Well yes, Jerry, the angels are inclined to bring out the truth, usually regardless of how anyone else feels about it. And yes, that is an inclination of my own, although it’s a bit of a test when it’s the truth about me, which ain’t pretty, the angels want brought out, regardless of how I or anyone else feel about it. The angels went to work on helping me take my own inventory shortly after they showed up in early 1987, and they have been at it ever since.
The personal cost to me, in my blood family, marriages, friendships and socially was great. However, I came to understand important stuff kept hidden, in a closet, cave, lagoon, etc., finds ways of expressing itself anyway, typically not fun ways. Psychiatrists see that all the time in their patients, in the form of mental, emotional, medical and behavior disturbances - “conversion disorders”. Same happens in families which keep secrets, and in social groups, churches, communities, governments, etc. The shadow will have its say, one way or another.
Also, it takes a huge amount of psychic/soul energy to keep secrets; energy which needs to be used on other things, but isn’t for so long as the secret remains secret. So obvious now to me, but for over one half of my life it was not obvious.

City Commissioner Tony Yaniz, a Cuban immigrant, is quoted as being shocked to learn of a 100 homes subdivision in Key West, which was restricted only to caucasian owners and tenants, excluding Hispanics, Blacks, Jews, etc., unless they were household servants. Maybe Tony needs to take an American history course at Key West High School, if such is taught there, accurately, which might be a stretch - I won’t hold my breath on the real history of Key West being taught in any city school.
Thank you again, blue paper, for going where even the prior and first incarnation of the blue paper feared to tread. There is a poster on the wall in Arnaud and Naja Girard’s home, saying:

Dr. King was killed because he came out against America’s war in Vietnam, which he said was a rich white man’s war being fought, to a large degree, by young black men, and without those young black men, that war could not be waged, and that modern version of African slavery would have ceased to exist, but it lives on today in rich white American men’s wars elsewhere overseas.
The Key West Citizen, the Keynoter and the other local newspapers would do really well to take to heart what Dr. King said. Not holding my breath on that, either. Nor on blacks refusing to fight rich white men’s wars overseas. Eventually, though, blacks in the U.S. armed forces might get to fight in America’s 2nd Civil War, which I imagine might be conservative whites, mostly, against every one else in America, mostly. Hope I’m not here for it. My daughters and their children might not be so fortunate.
I told Arnaud the other day, that his and Naja’s coverage of the Charles Eimers and other KWPD misconduct/brutality cases had not changed the view or behavior of KWPD and City Hall, other than it led to a “I support the Key West blue” bumper sticker campaign. Arnaud asked who might have started that campaign? Did the city pay for it? I said I didn’t know.
But right now, Jerry, I could say maybe Tony Yaniz started it, perhaps with help from city commissioner Mark Rossi,

both of whom went berserk during a city commission meeting last year, when I told the mayor and city commissioners and KWPD and city staff and all of Key West, it was televised, that their police had killed Charles Eimers, they had murdered him. That made the Citizen the next morning, and the blue paper the next Friday.
Arnaud said, the articles the blue paper wrote about police misconduct and brutality in Bahama Village had caused a major calming in the way city police were behaving there. I said I was glad to hear that. Arnaud said, he and Naja were told that by blacks in Bahama Village, and before they started reporting those incidents, they were told by blacks in Bahama Village that the situation with the police was so bad there, that maybe the best thing was for the blacks and the police to have a shoot out, with guns.
Cops had stuck guns in the face of old people, children, threatening to shoot them. Then, the cops found nothing.
Cops had detonated a concussion bomb in the upstairs of a home, where there was an infant, after being told there was an infant up there; now the infant has trouble hearing, and the cops found nothing up there.
Two white cops did an anal cavity search of a black man, in plain view, during daylight, before a crowd of black Bahama Village residents. The cops fully understood what they were doing; they were KKK, if not officially, then in their hearts. I published that several times in comments under blue paper articles and at goodmorningkeywest.com.
I wonder how Tony Yaniz would take to reading those paragraphs? And Mark Rossi? And Mayor Craig Cates? And the other four city commissioners?
The thing reported Friday in the blue paper Friday happened a really long time ago, it was fixed by federal laws and federal court cases. But, yes, the taint lingers, strongly, in Key West, as the blue paper has showed us, repeatedly.
In Friday’s article, Naja and Arnaud bring back up the tasering of the white man Matthew Murphy, who fell to the ground and struck his head on concrete and remains a vegetable in a hospital, not expected to get better. What led up to that tragedy, the article says, accurately, a white woman made horrible racial comments about Matthew’s black girlfriend as they passed her on Duval Street around 4 a.m.
Not clearly reported in the blue paper article Friday, Matthew, instead of going after the white racist woman, who was holding a pit bull to her, went after her white boyfriend, who was trying to talk Matthew down, trying to persuade Matthew to walk away, his girlfriend was drunk. But instead, Matthew punched the white boyfriend. And he was going to punch him again, it seems, when he was tasered.
Witnesses, including the white boyfriend of the white racist woman, and the white racist woman herself as I recall, said the cop did not give any warning to Matthew, to stop fighting; the cop did not even announce his presence; the cop was out of Matthew’s range of vision; and that’s what was wrong with the case: blindside tasering, according to earlier blue paper articles. And, tasers generally. Arnaud and Naja apparently want tasers banned from KWPD. That was not reported in Friday’s blue paper article.
Nor was reported, ever, by the blue paper something Naja and Arnaud told me after they first wrote about the Matthew Murphy case. Matthew had a premonition, if he went with his girlfriend to Duval Street, something bad with the police would happen, and he held off going, but she kept wanting to go, so he went, and when the premonition started to come true, instead of walking away, Matthew punched the white racist woman’s white boyfriend, who had not said anything about Matthew’s black girlfriend, who was pregnant with their child.
So, you see, Jerry, the length to which the angels require me to say and write what has happened in a situation, even as, get the irony, poetry, I am babysitting Arnaud and Naja’s home and cats this weekend while they are over on the Florida West coast, and before that they had let me keep my belongings under cover on their property, after I was no longer able to keep my belongings in the housing authority apartment of my friend, who got so gravely ill that he now is still in a hospital in Miami.
When Tom Milone asked me yesterday how my friend was doing, I said I’d just talked with his brother earlier in the day, by telephone; the brother lives in Washington state. The brother reported no progress. The brother has been paying the rent, but the housing authority told him that might not go on much longer; if his brother did not get better and come back to the apartment, they would end the lease and rent the apartment to someone else. Tom said, basically, that was unconscionable. I agreed, but said it is the housing authority’s policy.
Here I am writing that to you today, which I will publish, even though I am standing in line, hoping to get a housing authority elder apartment; even though I slept nights under the radar in my friend’s apartment, taking care of it and his cat, and cleaning the apartment so it no longer smelled like an open sewer. The angels apparently don’t care where I sleep, or where I will live in the future. All they seem to care about is I keep saying and writing what I see and what they tell me, which I don’t see.
I told Arnaud maybe a week ago, back in 2003, when I ran for mayor of Key West the first time, there was a small weekly newspaper/journal named “Celebrate”, which interviewed the five mayor candidates in a written questionnaire. One question was, what did we think should be done about the awful relationship between Bahama Village and KWPD? I wrote for my answer, only cops approved by Bahama Village elders should be allowed into Bahama Village. The journalist who posed the questions to us reported in an article in the next week’s Celebrate that the other four mayor candidates, one of whom was incumbent Mayor Jimmy Weekly, had declined to answer the Bahama Village/KWPD question. Only Sloan Bashinsky offered a solution, which you read above and the journalist reported.
I told Arnaud the other day, that’s still what needs to happen. Arnaud said, in some ways, that is what is happening now. Some cops are not going into Bahama Village anymore, because of blue paper articles.
I need to take a break, rest, before getting into more trouble today :-).

P.S. I had not read the blue paper article when I turned in last night. Lots of black men were in one of my dreams last night, leaning on me to do something. When I opened the blue paper this morning and read the lead article, I knew what the black men were aming me at.
I got into a heap of trouble back in late 1999, when I wrote to my father, to say I and my then two best men friends had dreams about me having an older half brother, who was half white, and half black, named Travis, and if that was true, and my father knew Travis’ whereabouts, I’d like to try to get in touch with and meet him.
I understood why the angels put me up to doing that. My friends’ dreams showed how much my father had loved Travis and his 15-year-old mother, who was the daughter of black servants of the parents of my then 15-year old father. It had torn my father up when his father paid the black family for their daughter to take Travis and leave Alabama and never come back there. According to my friends’ dreams, the payments continued for many years, until my father started making the payments, using trusted friends to keep it secret from everyone else, inlcuding my mother and my father’s second wife.
Losing Travis and his mother tore my father’s soul to shreds. Thereafter, he was a womanizer and a heavy drinker, for a very long time. Cause and effect? Certainly. Did the secret and symptoms of it being kept secret adversely affect my father, his marraige to my mother, his parenting of me and my brother and sister? Certainly. Having me open that back up in late 1999 was an opportunity for massive soul healing for my father and his family. His and his second wife’s response, and my siblings response, and other people’s response, led to even more soul damage in my father and his family, and soon thereafter I was living on the street.
I understood all of that back then, and I lived with it because there was nothing else I could do but live with it. From time to time, I met someone who understood it; but mostly, people did not understand it, and still do not understand it. It’s not in them to understand it, or they just don’t want to believe that’s how things work. Or can work.
If black Americans refused to fight rich white American men’s wars, that would change America, radically, quickly. But, I don’t think it’s in most young black men to see that; or if they see it, to do it. I wish Dr. King would start pestering them in their dreams. Scaring the liver out of them, if necessary, to get their attention, instill them with fear of God, which somewhere in the Old Testament is said to be the beginning of wisdom, which, wisdom, is assigned the female gender in the Old Testament.

Tom Milone just came into Sippin’ Internet Cafe.
He sits on the Key West Citizen’s (Police) Review Board. I couldn’t resist asking him if he thinks CRB member Arthur Dennison, a St. Mary Star of the Sea church honcho, is the wacko police can do no wrong psycho Arnaud, Naja and I think he is? Tom said, “No comment.”
When we talked the other day, Tom, who is running for the seat on Keys Energy’s board now held by Charlie Bradford, about which I wrote reams yesterday in favor of Keys Energy (KEYS) and Key West going solar … Tom said KEYS has two solar demonstration projects, one at Eco-Discovery Center (NOAA), and one at Keys Energy’s Stock Island Generation Plant.
26 kilowatts at NOAA and 44.16 kilowatts at the Stock Island plant.
Re the Stock Island facility, Tom read to me off of Keys website: “The array is installed on the roof of KEYS’ purchasing section and material warehouse. Energy generated from the system will help offset the energy used within the purchasing section offices and warehouse. The system was not designed with a battery backup for energy storage.”
I asked Tom if if KEYS will have solar panels on top of the redone KEYS building now under reconstruction on James Street? Tom said he doesn’t know, will look into it.
Tom said he really worries about future generations, and what kind of planet they will inherit and live on.
I told Tom, with all the sunlight we have down here, KEYS and Key West should be doing all possible to reduce dependency on fossil and nuclear generated electricity. Tom said we don’t get any of our power down here from nuclear; it comes from coal-powered plants on the mainland and low sulfur diesel and oil combined generators on Stock Island.
Tom said Utility Board races are city-wide, meaning any registered voter living inside the Key West city limits can vote in his and also in the other Utility Board races.
Personally, I can’t imagine Key West voters not wanting KEYS and Key West to go solar in every way possible. Since I’ve been here, going back to late 2000, Tom is the only candidate for public office, besides me, who has called for a solar Key West.
