Yesterday’s politicians and zombies, Key West Peary Court referendum and annual homeless survey post reported my fun experiences in Bayview Park with two homeless survey volunteers, in the midst of maybe a dozen homeless people, most of whom were wound up really tight on spice and booze. Zombies, I called them. And of my lady Kari, also homeless, who was not wound up on spice or booze, having fierce arguments with them over how they were again disrespecting a Big Pine Key woman, Maya, who again had bought them a lovely breakfast. The leader of the zombies attacking Kari was a woman named Rose, and her boyfriend.
One of the other zombies, a blond perhaps 45 year-old fairly attractive woman, Diane, who had been Kari’s cell mate for a couple of days in the jail, came charging over, yelling at Kari, who was talking with the woman from Big Pine Key. I turned and blocked the rabid lady zombie’s line of approach, and she started in on me. When she reached me, I clasped her left wrist lightly, and touched her right shoulder lightly, and told her to go back to where she had come from, I tried to spin her back around in that direction, lightly. She went berserk, yelling I had assaulted her, she was pressing charges! I told her again to go back to where she was before she came charging over. She unleashed a barrage of angry words about my character, and about Kari’s character. I said you are hopped up on something, let it go, go away. She said she was not on anything. I said she was on something, go away. She said she was a Christian, Jesus was with her. She attacked my character again, sort of reminded me of the attacks Mike Tolbert had hurled at my character - Mike manages the city’s homeless shelter. I told the lady zombie she had no idea who Jesus is, or was. Maya, who actually is a Christian, asked Diane to break it off. Diane finally left, screaming obsenities back at me and Kari, as the zombies, led by Rose and her boyfriend, hurled all manner of flaming and poisoned word spears at Kari and me, but not at Maya, who is Kari’s and my friend.
Bicycling to the soup kitchen yesterday afternoon on, I passed by the Seventh Day Adventist church on the corner 5th and Staples Avenues, in mid-down. Kari was sitting there in a chair with several other people. A homeless lay minister I know and her binge alcoholic boyfriend. The church’s assistant pastor. And Diane. I told the homeless woman there were zombies at Bayview Park that morning, and one of them was right there – I pointed at Diane, said she was totally out of bounds. I told Kari I would see her at the soup kitchen. When she arrived there, she told me Diane had said she had sworn out a warrant against me, for assault, and the assistant pastor was trying to talk her out of it, had been trying for hours, and Diane was carrying on like she was the queen of the world. I thanked Kari for getting into it with the zombies in Bayview Park, and said, after eating my meal, I would go straight to the police station and turn myself in. Kari was startled. I said I would not wait on them to send the cavalry and yank me off my bicycle.
We walked over to the line waiting on the kitchen door to open, so we could be served our meal, which often is as good as, or better, than I could get in a Key West restaurant. Rose was at the front of the line. She went into a seizure. Hit the ground. Her boyfriend called 911, An ambulance came. The two paramedics put Rose on a stretcher, she looked really bad. Catatonic, eyes open, gray. I wondered if she was dead? I told one of the two paramedics off to the side, Rose was using spice and booze this morning in Bayview Park. Spice and booze, the paramedic asked? Yeah, spice and booze, I sad. Later, Kari said Rose was smoking spice at the soup kitchen. Rose’s boyfriend was sitting at the table next to us. That morning, and even in the soup kitchen line, he had been giving Kari and me a hard time. Now he was quiet. He told other people he thought Rose was dead. He seemed leveled. Later, away from him, I told Kari – KARMA. She agreed.
From the soup kitchen, I pedaled straight to the police station across from Bayview Park. En route, I called a reliable friend and explained what was up, and if I called him later from the jail, I’d need his help. He said to keep him advised. Reaching the jail, I picked up the telephone downstairs and told the operator my name and said I’d heard there might be a warrant out for me, and if so, and I came to turn myself in, to save them sending the cavalry to get me. Could she have a police officer come down and speak with me? She said she would do that. In a little while, I heard my name called through the intercom at the bulletproof glass booth. I walked over and there was a lady officer and a man officer. The lady officer asked what they could do for me? I told them the story. They said the sheriff issues warrants, and there was not yet a warrant out against me. I asked, what if the complainant came to the city police station, and not to the sheriff, would the police station act on that, come looking for me? Well, yes, but that had not happened and I needed to contact the sheriff. I said that’s a long bicycle ride. Call the sheriff then, I was told. The man officer gave me the sheriff’s phone number. They seemed not happy I had bothered them.
I called the sheriff, was told by a lady there was no warrant out for me, but I could keep calling back. I asked if she could make a note in my imaginary case file that I had called about turning myself in, and what I might be charged with? No, they don’t have a case file on me yet. I said, well, if a warrant is issued, what happens? I don’t want you sending the cavalry after me, I will turn myself in. The lady said I would be mailed the warrant. I said, okay, what address are you showing for me? 1031 Grand Street, Little Torch Key. I said I don’t live there any more, I have no street address now, but I have a P.O. Box. Okay, what’s my P.O. Box? I gave it. She said to keep calling back. Okay, I said, and thanked her.
About then, Kari arrived at the police station. She had gone by the Seventh Day Adventist Church and told the assistant pastor and Diane that I had turned myself in at the police station. The ambulance we had seen at the soup kitchen arrived at the fire station adjacent to the police station. We walked over to the fire station to see if we could find out if Rose was alive or dead on arrival at the hospital? The fellow who came to the front let us into the lobby. One of the paramedics from the soup kitchen came by and I asked him if Rose was alive when they reached the hospital? She was alive, but that’s all he could tell us. I said I understood that, and thanks for the information, and we left.
Kari got into conversation with the same two officers behind the bulletproof glass. I told her not to bother the officers. They said she was not bothering them. They seemed to be having a good time. I couldn’t imagine how. Kari is a deadly threat to society, according to Mike Tolbert. Then, two large uniformed officers came out of the main entrance asking for me. I identified me. They said they’d heard I was down front to turn myself in. I said, yes. I explained what the other two officers had told me, and that I had called the sheriff and had gotten nowhere with that. They asked who was the person I was said to have assaulted? I told them, and what had happened in the park that morning. They laughed, said they knew Diane well, she had already made the complaint against me and had been told she is always complaining to the police and they had told her to stop doing it. (Very short version of what all they said about Diane) I said I did touch her lightly, like I would touch a woman I was dancing with and swing her way from me in a spin. One officer said I had tried to redirect her to stop a fight, I had no intent to hurt her. There would be no charges against me. Kari told them where Diane now lives, in the Seventh Day Adventist Church. They said they were glad to learn that, they had not known where she was living, and if she kept filing complaints, they would arrest her.
We four talked about spice being sold and used in Bayview Park. The officers said they were well aware of it. I said, if they put an officer in the park in the morning, who is not dressed like an officer, they would catch Carmine, the spice dealer. They said, him, and named a couple of other dealers. It was the most fun I’d had all day, talking with those two police officers.
Kari and I left the police station and pedaled over to the war memorial at Bayview Park. I left her there, sitting on her folding tube chair, and headed to where I stay to pick up my folding tube chair, which I’d left there. The woman of the couple who let me stay in their spare bedroom said her sister is coming soon, they will need the bedroom. I said okay, no problem. Further conversation suggested they do not want me coming back. Among things said, I need to get a paying job so I can pay rent for me and for Kari, who also needs to get a job. I said, I have a job, but it does not pay money. A job that drains me, I did not say. I said Kari needs major surgery, her intestine is draining into her vagina. That needs to be dealt with before she can get a job. I said I had been thinking I should pay some rent, it did not feel right staying there for free. My host said they can rent the room for a lot more than I can pay. I agreed. She said they don’t want to rent it, they want to keep it open for guests. I said I understood. I did not say I had seen it coming. I don’t make the capitalist god happy. I’m a dangerous person to be around, because of what I get into and report at goodmorningkewyest.com. I sometimes publish that people who once were my friends became possessed by Lucifer. Jim Hendrick and Mike Tolbert, for examples. I am told stuff about people in my dreams, which they don’t want anyone to know about them.
That was the news I gave to Kari when I got back to the war memorial. That led to a discussion I will not report just yet, other than I told Kari how the day had gone for us is typical of how the angels treat people they are working directly with. Such people live in an entirely different world than people who are not being worked directly with by angels. Kari said she didn’t like angels all that much, they needed to go about it differently. I have two weeks left where I’m staying.
This morning Post-script:
My friend on Big Pine Key, Maya, called about 7:30 a.m. to say she would be at Bayview Park in 20 minutes. I told her about Rose. She said she would call the hospital. By the time I got to Bayview, Maya’s serving table was already set up with food, drink, cups, bowls and eating utensils. Maybe 10 now very somber zombies were there. The news of their queen’s seizure and near death was out. There was no zombie behavior. There was no grabbing food. Maya said she had called the hospital, Rose was in ICU. There was reverence when Maya asked them to join in a circle and hold hands, while she prayed. She asked God to tell them to stop using booze and spice, it is bad for them and they need the money for other things. She asked us to join her in the Lord’s Prayer, which we all did. A real Christian, Maya.
The angels used Rose to get the zombies’ attention. Then, the angels used Maya, to drive the angels’ point home. If Kari or I had told the zombies what Maya told them, they would have gone berserk.
When I left Bayview Park a few minutes later, there were 20 somber homeless people there. Eating breakfast. A totally different scene from yesterday, and the day before. Maybe they got the message. Hopefully they got the message. Not holding my breath.
There are homeless surveys, and here are the angels’ homeless surveys. I imagine in God’s eyes, every person in Key West is homeless.

Subject: Fabrication and fairytales from a self admitted pedofile
first off Kari came up with that rape story after I called her probation officer about her other fabrications! Not other way around! That breathalyzer incident Is pure fantasy Yes I had my guys bring it out when client said He saw me shooting pool that day. Numbers were 0.00. If you care so much for Kari why do you sleep inside and let her fend for herself. A man would never do that! Also A man would never have raped his sister and admitted it using the words Quote I DESTROYED MY SISTER. UNQUOTE You Yourself felt so entitled you Didn’t even walk to the bathrooms to piss late one night and got caught pissing outside. Kari did not get Hospital check up nor go to police because that would be filing a false police report. But you are unhinged and I am beginning to think Suffering early dementia. If she such a nice person Just exactly why does her family not want her back? Why is there no record of her on ms state rodeo records as a member or competitor? Why is she not on jesse James Ancestor list when you pay to look it up? Throwing out Drug dealers violent people and cleaning up KOTS changed the territory and I knew it was going to be a thankless job from those that just wanted to Drink all night do drugs etc. But Yet I removed that element. Especially the violent people. John and I removed the monitors that caused problems and the spice is outta Kots as well as the Booze. The place is cleaner than ever Every client showers and outta my monitors pockets we supply few treats for guys from time to time pizza popcorn. Newer movies from redbox. So kindly do what any southern MAN would do stay nights outside with your girl. Who was screaming at you in the dollar tree and publix parking lot. And take care of her If you are Truly concerned. But you are not you are just concerned with making a little man that got ran outta his home town who molested his sister and has crossed threshold of sanity look important! FYI Frissbee dave is on his meds and doing well back at KOTS. CHOW Old crazy Dude! Mike!
Anytime Kari wants to go on a polygraph HMU
You would make a whole group suffer to protect one violent pathological liar and a few dopers with AXE to grind.
You are truly deranged.
I wrote back the next morning:
Wow, Mike –
You challenge Kari to be polygraphed, but you do not offer yourself up for polygraph. That says volumes.
Kari said she is happy to be polygraphed about the rape, but you pay for it and I choose the polygraph examiner from among polygraph experts used by local or federal law enforcement in the Florida Keys. Kari said she hopes you will go for that, because a huge betting pool will form and we will win a lot of money and never be homeless again.
Kari said she won the Missouri high school barrel racing championship in 1980. That was before internet. Kari said her grandmother told her she was related to Jesse James, and good luck anyone proving today who all is and is not related to Jesse James, who robbed banks and murdered people in Missouri.
Kari said, once before, her parents rescued her and brought her home and she threw it all away. I published that at goodmorningkeywest.com.
I talked with Kari about my living on the street with her after she was released from jail, and she said I am too old for that and to stay at KOTS or with the family where I sometimes stay. A couple of weeks ago I was thinking again of not using my friends’ home and either staying at KOTS or outside with Kari, and then you, Mike, came to me in a dream and told me I was going the wrong way with that, so I let it go and stayed in my friends’ home.
Kari gets mad at and yells at me. Happens a lot. She’s suffered a lot of awful trauma over her life. She has serious post traumatic stress, and being raped made that a lot worse, as does living on the street.
I did piss in the grass outside at KOTS in the wee hours, but you left out what I told the monitor and you: the bathrooms were filthy by lights out and I did not want to track that filth into the dorm where many men and I were sleeping. I was banned from KOTS for 2 weeks because of that, and I wrote about it at goodmorningkeywest.com, and then the bathrooms at KOTS were being cleaned up at night, as well as in the morning.
You also know it was my “whining” about stinking clients in the dorms, and scabies and MRSA rampant at KOTS, that led to you create the rule that all KOTS clients have to shower before they can get a sheet or blanket and a bunk assigned.
And you know it was me who reported Frisbee Dave to monitors, because he was aggressively bumping into people in front of the television, trying to start fights, and he would not stop doing it. You told me that you banned Dave for life, but later you told me that you had told the sheriff office Dave could come back if he was off of booze and spice, and on his meds.
I don’t know when you let Dave start staying at KOTS again. I did not see him at Bayview Park yesterday. However, for quite some time, I have seen him daily in Bayview wasted on booze and spice, walking around in a daze, talking to himself, mostly incoherent. He sometimes dumps his belongings out of the bags on his bicycle onto the ground and leaves them lying around until someone gets onto him about it. A number of homeless people can attest to that, also Tony, who works for the City of Key West and cleans the bathrooms at Bayview Park every morning. If Dave is taking meds for his bipolar disorder, then those meds, blended with the booze and spice he is ingesting, must be driving his poor brain nuts-squared.
No need to boast what you did at KOTS, I already boasted that for you at goodmorningkeywest.com. What you cleaned up was the mess created by John Miller’s predecessor at SHAL, Randi Cohen Brown, and her predecessor, Wendy Coles. However, I know from staying many nights at KOTS this year that there are many drunks and druggies staying there at night, as well as a few people who seem to believe it is their constitutional right to talk loud whenever and for so long as they wish, and disturb other clients.
Meanwhile, what is the city supposed to do about the homeless people you ban from KOTS? How many of them have you made criminals because it is illegal for them to sleep outside at night? I look forward to seeing you at a city commission meeting telling the mayor, city commissioners, city staff and the public what they are supposed to do with the homeless people you won’t let use KOTS.
If I had my way, KOTS would be only for people who can pass a pee test. That would clean up KOTS for real, and reduce its clients to maybe twenty people, or less. All other homeless people would walk to or be police escorted to a drunk tank built and operated by the city at its expense, and be released after they are sober enough to walk a straight line (Marchman Act). I’d put the drunk tank on the city transit property on Palm Avenue, across from Peary Court, after the new city transit terminal opens on Stock Island. The Sheriff would feel like he had died and gone to heaven, not having Key West’s drunks and druggies spending the night, or nights, or weeks, or months, in his jail.
The new, much smaller KOTS for homeless people with clean urine could stay right where it is on the Sheriff’s land. Kari could run that and you could run the city’s drunk and spice tank.
Your beating me up about stuff I told the world wide web about myself puts you at the end of a very long line, at the front of which is me, who started the beating up of myself to save other people the waste of time and energy and digging, investigating me.
I dunno, perhaps you might wish to consider hiring Kari a bodyguard of her choosing, because if something else bad happens to her on the street, you could be suspect number 1
Crazy Sloan
I wrote again to Mike this morning:
Let’s play 20 questions …
I was gotten onto in a dream for going light on you the other day. In my lame defense, there were some things I did not yet know or had not yet occurred to me to write to you.
I took your failure to respond to my email to mean you invoked your 5th Amendment right against self-incrimination, which, sadly or happily, does not exist in God’s Court or in the court of public opinion.
If you had manned up and offered yourself to be polygraphed on your dime, I would have provided 20 questions for the polygraph examiner to ask you.
1. Have you ever invited a female KOTS client to have sex with you?
2. Did Kari Dangler decline to have sex with you?
3. Are you and your wife Patti Jo sex swingers?
4. Did you pay women to have sex with you?
5. Did you do drugs with women you paid to have sex with you?
6. Were you a drug dealer in the Key West area?
8. Did you supply Xanax to April Thomason?
9. Did you use drugs in the Key West area, which were not prescribed by a physician?
10. Did you ever drive your moped in the Key West area when you were intoxicated?
11. Did you ever lie to John Miller, acting Executive Director of Southern Assistance Homeless League?
12. Did you ever lie to Southern Assistance Homeless League?
13. Did you ever lie to Sloan Bashinsky?
14. Did you ever commit a felony?
15. How many felonies did you commit?
16. Did you ask someone to go to Kari Dangler and harm her?
17. Did you ask someone to go to Kari Dangler and sexually assault her?
18. Did someone you know volunteer to go to Kari Dangler and harm her?
20. Did someone you know volunteer to go to Kari Dangler and sexually assault her?
Your failure, Mike, to take that polygraph exam, on your dime, administered by a respected polygraph examiner recommended by the local F.B.I. office, with Kari and me silently observing, will be taken as your answering YES to all 20 questions.
I will send a copy of our emails to the city manager, city attorney, city clerk, city mayor and city commissioners, with a copy to John Miller.
Sloan
The Peary Court referendum discussion on the Key West Concerned Citizens Facebook page grew longer legs after I included it in yesterday’s politicians and zombies, Key West Peary Court referendum and annual homeless survey post at goodmorningkeywest.com:

Archer Miller
What a wonderful man Ed Swift is .
White Street Partners bought Peary Court for $35,000,000.00 and weren’t able to develop it the way they wanted. Jimmy Weekley offered to use taxpayers dollars to buy the property for $20,000,000.00 more than they paid for it even though he knew the house’s were not built to code. This was a very nice offer seeing how nobody even knows who is involved in White Street Partners. The only problem is, is the voters have to approve the purchase. Well that wonderful man Ed Swift is putting up $5,000.00 of his own money to form a PAC or political action committee to help convince the voters to help out these people who ever they are. And the taxpayers will be left with over 160 homes not built to code and 30 or 40 years of mortgage.

Sloan Bashinsky Paul Revere emailed me this morning:
Here are a couple general points that need to be considered about Peary Court and Keys life in general:
What everyone really needs to get up in arms about now is the State may allow more rogos to build more hotels! That’s not a big help.
The tourist industry is clearly employee intensive and used to muscling local governments. They are aided and abetted by planners, designers, architects and lawyers who make money from new development, not to mention builders and suppliers to the building industry, .How many maids, hotel maintenance and check-in staff will be able to pay any level of Peary Court rent? The easy and correct answer is zero. If the hotel industry really had any pull in the matter, then they would OPPOSE Peary Court because it won’t house a single one of their own workers. Tourism industry invites and supports people used to a lower standard of living on the wages that tourism pays. So now we have the cycle of low end housing supporting underpaid earners,, for whom we have to build more, low end housing, which won’t be Peary Court.
Key West has arrived and maybe we shouldn’t be advertising so heavily. One reason being that we need to provide a quality product which our overworked , underpaid people struggle to achieve. Yet the TDC is still advertising all over CNN and other tv channels I get over Comcast. Time for TDC to slow its spending and save for the time when it can legally use bed tax money for proper housing etc. I hope the PAC starts work on that.
What would happen to Peary Court renters when they lose their job or somehow can’t pay the rent? What happens in other KWHA managed housing? I can’t imagine that they’ll be tossed on the street as quickly as with a private rental. What happens to Peary Court renters when they retire or become disabled from their public sector job? Re charter schools, isn’t Sigsbee one? Will the teachers there live at Peary Court and are they DOD contractors or school district employees? I don’t know. They may not be able to afford the rents either.
Am I the only one who has read the two Peary Court financial analysis reports that the city bought? The city’s own consultant stated that the financing would probably be at 4.5%. The magical 3.5% rate that everyone claims is for a type of municipal bond that has a maximum yearly issuance of $30m. Even if that were to happen, there is another $16m that will need to be paid at market rate.
The Navy objected to the contractor’s use of OSB, but they got away with it in 1994. It wasn’t in the contract specs . The vinyl siding is more flammable than OSB and acts as an accelerant to ignite the glue in the OSB according to a well placed person. I spoke with my contractor yesterday about OSB Board. He confirmed that it is not used in Key West because it simply doesn’t hold up in high humidity environments. Ask any local engineer/contractor/architect or go to Manley de Boer and try to buy some. You’ll be laughed out of the place. There is a reason no one sells it.
Peary Court has never encountered hurricane force winds. Hurricanes have passed near Key West, but the actual winds on Key West since Peary Court’s construction have always been below hurricane force codes..
Supporters of the purchase of Peary Court by the City of Key West have emphasized that ALL rental income will be used to retire the bonds issued in the purchase. There will be significant maintenance issues over the years, particularly when you consider that the units are already 20 years old. In an article in Sunday’s Citizen, Manuel Castillo, “executive director of the Housing Authority of Key West and the city’s advisor on Peary Court”, stated that the city is “probably going to have to replace the appliances quickly and many of them at one time….” People need to look at that site you posted yesterday about it’s wonderful condition.

Colby Fisher I agree with you…especially since nearly every word that you included above originated from my hand.

Sloan Bashinsky you mean you agree with Paul Revere, who is somebody other than me, which I think you know, and who that is
