Had a dream last night, Sept. 14-15, 2016, in which a star Russian football player was going to buy some real estate, then he didn’t buy it. I woke up wondering what that was about?

In my dreams, Russia represent my 3rd wife, a teaching member of Sandplay Therapists of America. Sometimes I called her Katerina Kapnisky, which she seemed to like. Sometimes I refer to myself in posts at goodmorningkeywest.com as Rasputin. In my dreams, football means the American version, rough and tumble.

While I did share at goodmorningkeywest.com a small part of a long private Facebook chat with a former Sandplay client, Y, who had approached me by making a friend request on Facebook, after finding online some of my own writings about Sandplay and Katerina, I held off publishing the whole chat because my new correspondent said she would write her own book about her and Sandplay and Sandplay Therapists of America (STA).

However, early on in our Facebook discussion, Y gave me permission to publish our chat, and the Russian football player dream indicated I had let something kinda big slip past me, so here it is.

What follows is indicative of what the angels taught me to do, before they decided to put me into politics about 15 years ago. I tried to repair typos, misspellings, etc.

Before accepting Y’s friend request, I went to her Facebook page and saw there was very little there that told much about her directly. Subjectively, more was told. And this photo was there.

As way of poetic introduction . . .

    Y added a new photo.

“It is autumn,” she said, as she released another armful of leaves into the fire. “And it is time to harvest the poems.” She bathed in the smoke of the leaves, smiling and twinkly-clear-eyed. Kalixa 2059 – A Vietnamese woman who’d lost her soul-mate in the war with the Americans said to me, “The teacher gives hard lessons to the best students.” She told me that she could see in my eyes that I was a good student and handed me a packet of tissues to wipe away the tears. Her name was Mai, pronounced “my”. She courted me with coffees and deserts and dinners before asking me to help her translate her poems. Mai was a painter and still radiantly beautiful in her mid-sixties. She’d married well, though loveless, to a wealthy French man after the war, and had since spent half of each year in Paris where she painted, and the other half of the year in Saigon where, as she put it, “There is the life.” I had moved to Saigon for the life- the life that is the beautiful wise child of war, that could laugh and play and love in spite of and because of the wounds of war, the life that did not fear death and that kept the departed shamelessly alive. The living and the dead hold hands in Saigon; life and death are lovers touching again and again and never touching in the place between life and death. Life and death hold hands, walking the edge of a dream, walking to something beyond life and death that holds without holding. Life in Saigon was harsh and loud and dangerous and equally full of tender quiet beauty. Life in Saigon was my entire life amplified and magnified, and was no life and every life. Saigon welcomed the homeless, the hurt, the grieving, the broken, and asked only that one reach inside to find the joy . . . the smile deep with the heart, the peace beyond understanding. If one was willing to do that or at least make an attempt to do that, then the spirit of Saigon welcomed and tended to the soul. Little boys are burning candles and rice wine. I watch them from my balcony. The moon is full. Light -always the light. We work from our environment and always with the light. Saigon was a mirror for my soul and reminded me of the truth that I could only give what I truly possessed and that giving to others began by first giving to myself. Mai came to me one day with a stack of papers, poems that she had written in Vietnamese to describe her paintings, and asked me to help her translate them. Her English was very limited and my Vietnamese was almost non-existent. I told her I didn’t know if I could do it and she gently reached out her delicate hand and patted my chest saying, “Yes, yes you can. It’s in here.” We finished translating over a hundred poems within a few days. I was surprised by the effortless flow of words and wordless words to paper, but Mai was not surprised. She treated me to a grand farewell dinner before she left for Paris. I was back in the US by the time she returned to Saigon. We did not keep in touch. It has been almost fifty years since Mai told me that I was a good student and handed me the packet of tissues, and I still have the plastic tissue-wrapper tucked away in the bottom of a little box of sentimentals. There are flower patterns on the wrapper and one bold red word . . . LOVE. Mai feels closer and more vivid to me each day. Lotus blooming knows and forgets it IS the lotus blooming. Unconscious conscious had danced and flown into and beyond the unknown and IS in one moment of this – everlasting bliss. Truth be told, some of my writing is not actually mine. I have learned to decipher when it is from my own conscious or my unconscious or the collective, or whether it is coming from and an entity outside of time. This skill of channeling the voices of spirits was one of the gifts that was born of the ashes of life. I learned that a broken heart is an open heart, and that the more a heart is broken, the greater capacity it has to hold, to understand, to feel and to know - translate, transmute, transform, and create. Pieces of robin’s shell in soft palms Cradled the child does not wonder if they can be put back together She collects and examines and absorbs and smiling reaches out to place the blue in the woman’s hands then dances away in search of other treasures knowing that she IS – Always – swimming in surprise and the woman Closes her eyes pressing palms together Crumbling the pressure of her prayers turning to powder the pieces of blue powder turning to paste as heart surf breaks pouring Changing and the ocean and sky answer reflecting . . . “We are Always but never the same” and she Cups painting with the blue paste the woman’s burning temple finger-painting the Center of her brow bowing she whispers . . . “I am always new.” Then opens her real-eyes to - Always - who reaches from behind her mind with one tiny tender violet and Carefully Places the purple smiling in her soul Learning the poetry of life, the wordless communication of the heart and communion with spirit, seemed at times to be a chaotic, senseless, meaningless mess. But from the perspective of looking from a distance now, and over the long body of life, I am aware of the patterns within the circuitous trajectory, and that what appeared as chaos was in fact the divine order of the Great Imagination unfolding. The pain of loss was a theme throughout life: loss of childhood, loss of loved ones to death, loss of relationships, loss of homes and possessions and positions. Loss and emotional and physical pain forced me to go to the Source, to Spirit, to Self. Poetry was the most familiar bridge that I crossed to commune with Source, but there were other bridges too. Nature was always a bridge; the elements, and in particular trees and streams and moonlight and wind. I stand in the woods and the trees take handfuls of my spirit and lift it to the sky. I stand barefoot on cold ground. Behind me a small stream flows downward over rocks and moss and fallen trees. It flows to the river. The river is why I am here. I have come to watch the river and to listen to it. Dreams were another bridge, both waking and sleeping dreams, and I became a translator of dreams and a philosopher and psychologist of dreams - symbols from the unconscious, from other worlds. Painting, music, writing, playing and praying were bridges as well, and I found solid and luminous footing on the bridges between worlds. I learned to view life from outside and deep inside the “known” - outside of time and space and the limited definitions of mind. I call the bridge and suddenly appear somewhere more or less real than here hands on rail, peering there is flow yet still and stagnant changing Is there choice in what flows? Yes and no Here in dialectical choice I choose to see the lotus The years teach much what the days never know. Nothing is so far away as just a minute ago. And nothing is as close as what will never be. So call your dragons to burn the chords and let yourself be free. I prayed, as a child, that I might be a blessing to others. I was sensitive to the sadness and suffering of the adults in my care and longed to bring comfort and healing to the wounds that I could see so clearly. I figured out, when I was very young, that hurt people hurt people, and I realized too that much of the suffering was the result of being trapped in the illusion of believing that physical existence was the only existence. I knew this wasn’t true. I had been visited by spirits in the night, glowing blue and golden beings who spoke to me of things I would soon forget in languages that were not of this world. The spirits comforted and encouraged my child’s heart and though the conscious memory of the visitations faded, the essence of the spiritual communion stayed with me. It was this other knowing that sustained me when tragedy struck and then struck again and again, shattering the illusion of permanence, ripping the veil of certainty or of any order that my humanness had constructed and clung to for comfort. More than once I cried out to the uni-verse, “Enough!” and argued my case that there had been enough loss, enough fear, enough loneliness, enough pain . . . enough. Too many lessons for one life . . . enough lessons for many lives. But that request from conscious-limited-ignorant-mind could not alter what had been put in motion with the Self-designed blue-print of my being. It took me many years to understand the why of suffering and the gifts that pain bestowed. My prayer as a child to be a blessing to others was answered in the kiln of life; I became a vessel, a container, a hollow-bone, and at the same time that I appeared, from a human perspective, to have lost self and to have merged with the dark shadows of self, I was in fact being formed in an order to hold and heal much more than my human spirit could conceive. The first inkling of this gift came through my work with grieving children, and so too the awareness that as I held healing space and energy for others, I was simultaneously healing my own mortal wounds and growing my spirit. Living and working with grief dissolved the veils between worlds and illuminated the meaning of existence and the sweetness of sorrow. Death, one’s own dying or the death of a loved one is the most profound opportunity to experience the everlasting. But I learned that the gifts of grief are only scaffolding to the greater truth of life and creation. It took me almost half a lifetime, and finally I broke through the illusion of death to the greater reality of the pregnant-moment and the possibility for birth and new life within each moment. And from this point of breaking through and within, I found the most potent answer to my prayer and realized my purpose. The Vietnamese woman, Mai, had felt my gift and awakened it by asking me to feel with my heart and paint with her with words; weave the fragments, the broken pieces of life that extends life beyond life. I became an adept at understanding the language of symbols, of words and of wordless symbols. I came to know the nature of the symbol that lives beyond the symbol and has the power to carry, communicate, and create multiple meanings. My greatest accomplishment in this life dwells in the realm of the numinous, ephemeral, unquantifiable, space without dimension, with the ever expanding no-place and everywhere of the Great Imagination. The closest word to capture this achievement is, not surprisingly, love. My human form was a vehicle for the energy of love and this energy continues to radiate throughout the universe – there is no end to its radiance. My greatest contribution to humanity was to articulate the existence of an eternal realm beyond the physical and to show the way. The Tao flows and is still. New and ageless. The unformed form. The unnamed name. The wordless poem. The thought outside of mind. Touch that has never been felt. A frameless door. The space that fills. The Tao flows and is still. I translated wordless awareness aided by metaphor and symbol and modeled how to stand, sure- footed, on the bridge between worlds and to awaken to the dream that is limitless life without end. As an elder, I have come fully into my spirit-being – into the medicine woman Kalixa that I was born to become and who continues becoming. . . always being. . . always becoming. . . Kalixa White butterfly Spirit woman talks to trees with smoke “Mother, Father” she prays. Her parents and brothers are long dead and she is so young in her old flesh. White butterflies follow her and flow from her. She pours sugar on the ground and prays to the sweetness of the earth. She laughs at sleep and drinks beer to sober-up. She is the strength and sinew of spirit that has formed by the loss of everything. Through cruelty and injustice, she has held her grace, her center. She spits in the face of falseness and her smile gives birth to stars.

This may be a better area for us to chat more privately - not that I mind a phone conversation, but I think it would be good to capture some of our convo in writing. I am toying with the idea of writing a book about sandplay and sand tray, what are the differences and does it really matter. But reading your work has re-minded me of my desire to call out the arrogant and exclusive community of STA. Nauseating bunch of sick egos and so unfortunate because sandplay is soul play and integration and is so in line with the divine feminine and the Great Imagination. So perhaps there is a book that is wanting to come of this. Thoughts?

Well, I was thinking maybe we should talk in the telephone just to get acquainted in that way, not necessarily to carry on this kind of discussion, which I agree should be in writing, if it’s to be used later in some way. I did not realize there is a difference between sandplay and sandtray, from that national and international perspective anyhow. Perhaps the Jungians call it sandtray? Or people using it but without going through the formal sandplay process, which Dora felt was the core part of the training. I had a dream before waking the second time this morning, of being with a young woman who had a double barrel or over and under shotgun, and we were looking into the Homewood area of Birmingham, where I had once trained in a Japanese karate dogo (before I ever heard of Dora Kalff), and nearby was the men’s clothing store run by the family of the gay Sandplay therapist I mentioned earlier today. He was big into Rumi, and one of his favorite Rumi’s was, Beyond good and evil, there is a field, and I will meet you there.” Later, someone corrected me, said what Rumi actually wrote was, “Beyond right doing and wrong doing there is a field, and I will meet you there.” Another of Rumi’s I like is, “What you call love is but subtle degrees of domination; love is like the moon in the window, it’s just there.”

Anyway, I told the young woman to open the breach of her shotgun and make sure the people she was trying to reach saw the breech was open and no shells in the barrels. Then, I told her to turn the shotgun upside down, with it broken completely open and she cradles it in her arms, to make sure it is not seen as a threat. I sometimes used a shotgun to hunt doves, quail and rabbits, long before I met Dora. In Dora’s symbology, the rabbit is a universal symbol of the feminine. Recently, my daughters were in a dream of mine with beagle hounds, who love hunting rabbits. So you might be one of those rabbits those beagles were hunting. Other rabbits already showed up in different variations since I had that dream.

Maybe you rethink how you want to write our book? Perhaps the feminine will lead you into and through the writing? In her own way, “killing whoever needs to be killed softly with her song, or otherwise killed? I can be very heavy handed, but I know the other way, too - and if I”m listening patient, she gets her message accross.

Before I heard back from you today the first time, I though the shotgun dream might be about me, about my feminine having gone too far with something I emailed to someone the other day, and I need to retrace and change a little how I went at it. That still might be the case. Sometimes dreams I have, have more than one meaning. I have been told many times in different mystical ways that I need to dream so I will know what is really going one. I am pretty sure dreams come out of the feminine, and/or in my case are manufactured by angels. All of my dreams are about something I have engaged, am engaging, or soon will engage on this world. Dr. Jung and Dr. Freud both might have a struggle trying to treat me, who am being run by angels ongoing.

I would think, just now, off the top of my head, that what the world perhaps more needs than a Sandplay slam, is a narrative report from someone credible, who went into Sandplay and emerged out of it, like, hmmm, joining a cult, or a yogi’s ashram, or a Christian sect, then emerging out of it - into something much bigger and far more expansive, and how it then went for you and is going or you. Perhaps our discussion could be part of your story, as we both have what I could perhaps label insider views of Sandplay, based on actual insider experiences with it and some of its practitioners, in my case, with its founder, Dora Kalff and her son and several of her direct students, and quite a few of the American Association of Sandplay honchos, one of whom is my 3rd wife, Katerina Katnipsky.

If you have not read it, you might wish to find a copy of ON A SPACE SHIP WITH BEELEZEBUB, which was written by someone who had been deeply involved in two different Gurjieff colonies in different parts of America, first in NY City as I recall, then in either Washington State or Oregon, which tell of his experiences in those two tightly formed spiritual communities and his leaving them, first the NY community, then the Pacific Northwest group. Very interesting reading. I had piddled in a Gurdieff community in Birmingham, but did not bond with it, some years before the angel came and snatched me, and then introduced me to Katarina Katnipsky, which led to my meeting Dora and Martin and quite a few Sandplay heavy weights from Europe. Japan and America, but I only really got to know Dora and Martin from the outside America Sandplpay communities. The Beelezeb book was a take off from Gurdjieff’s Opus Major, BEELEZEBUB’S TALES TO HIS GRANDSON, about all and everything. I recommended the spaceship book to people trying to wean from Gurdjieff communities. It was not easy for them to do it. The author of the spaceship book covers that very well for his own experience. It’s a good parallel book, I think, for someone weaning from other spiritual communities, including Sandplay. A very different approach to spiritual discipline and acceleration, Gurjieff”s compared to Sandplay, but the weaning is probably related to leaving any spiritual community, or church, or even a political party.

The spaceship author was kind to the Gurdjieff community gurus, who didn’t want to let him go, but he did not spare explaining the dynamics from his perspective and the tests he went through during the weaning, after he realized it was his time to move on into something beyond that kind of spiritual community, the core principles of which he carried away with him.

Please let me know your email address and I will send you my dissertation . . . it isn’t your typical dry read and will help to lay the ground work for further thunking. Since my very first encounter with Sand Tray (my dissertation addresses the differences between Sand Tray and Sandplay, but not in great detail as I think would be worthwhile to write about) I had a desire to free the practice for therapists, artists, healers, spirit guardians and guides, who might not otherwise have the access and resources and the privilege of pursuing the expensive and time consuming training. I completed my advanced Jungian Sandplay training with Barbara Turner (the person who attempted to sabotage my dissertation) we did 220 face to face hours of training, over 100 consultation hours, and finished my personal sandplay process. I also did a lot of work with her for a new organization that she was putting together (she had huge issues with STA and so decided last year to start her own STA). She was on my dissertation committee and 4 days prior to the defense, which at that point should only have been a rite of passage, completely blind sided me by basically asking me to re-write the dissertation. My chairperson and other committee member came swooping in to my defense - and it truly was a defense. She than gave me shockingly low marks that could have compromised it being accepted by the department chair. Long, ugly story, but that’s it in a nutshell, and I trust that this is part of a spirit contract that Barbara Turner and I had with each other. I have no feelings of revenge, only fuel for creating something meaningful and generative . . . rescuing a divine tool from the shackles of charlatans.

I used the tray as an interpretive tool in my dissertation, so was way out of the box with that, but in the same way that you describe poems bursting forth, the dissertation emerged as a sort of dance with the Great Imagination and I faithfully followed the melody of the spheres. I received great feedback from people outside the field of Jungian Sandplay, but others within the community are remaining very quite. You seem like a fast reader, thinker, writer, and of course you can just skim it. Will look for your address now.

I never heard Dora call her work Jungian Sandplay Therapy. Although she trained under Dr. Jung, who told her she should use what she was learning on children, learning from Margaret Lowenfeld, a British children’s physician who was using sand trays with children diagnostically, and Dora saw something bigger going on and asked Dr. Lowenfeld’s permission to use her work in that way and Dr. Lowenfeld gave Dora permission. Dora went to England to spend time with Dr. Lowenfeld, is how that began.

I remember Barbara’s name, but not much else about her. There were a number of Sandplay therapists in California, Kay Bradway (spelling?) was the matriarch back when I was with Katerina. I first met Dora at a Sandplay workshop Katerina attended in Monterrey, which was when Katerina and Dora reunited after many years. Katerina first met Dora in Switzerland, when she was doing something at the Jung Institute (Katerina). She had a woman Jungian analyst also she was working with, who tried to sabotage her time with Dora, and as I recall, sort of succeeded. That was when Katerina was still in, or just out of college, long before I knew her.

Yeah, I cover that in the dissertation, and being the animal that dissertations are, had to use a ton of references. STA has been designating sandplay as Jungian Sandplay for many years, and until just recently, there’s been a shift to calling it Kaffian Sandplay - had something to do with the editor of the Red Book speaking at the STA national conference and telling the Sandplay therapists that Sandplay therapy was more purely Jungian than psychoanalysis.

I was who nudged and pushed Katerina to go to that Monterrey Sandplay workshop, and I attended it, and right afterward I went ot he front and gave Dora a copy of the Br-er Rabbit and the Tarbaby story I’d found in a Monterrey bookstore and asked her if she would like to join Katerina and me for dinner, and Dora said she’d be delighted, but she had travelling companions, two of her students, and a Swiss traveling companion, and I said bring them, too, and that’s how I started getting to know Dora and she invited Katerina to a Sandplay traning one month in Zollikon, and invited me too come along and I could do Sandplay with Martin, and I wrote to her about that and she wrote back and said a friend had a flat nearby who was going on vacation that month and would Katerina and I like to rent it, and I wrote back yes, and that is how it came I was in Zurich in 1988, saying about 2 blocks from Dora’s home, having quite a few conversations with her and being in on many more.

I was only just then getting started on my very strange journey back then, which I imagine Dora realized, but she was inscrutable; she described herself as esoteric Christian, not as Buddhist, which Martin was, due to Dora having unwittingly taken in a Tibetan who actually was a lama, he later revealed, and he was sort of Martin’s father and mentor. That’s lama introduced Dora to the Dalai Lama, in India, and later he came to visit Dora at her home in Zollikon, and that’s when she told him about Sandplay and showed him her therapy room and told him how her clients made pictures in the sand and they got better, and he told her it was applied Buddhism and, by the way, what kind of pictures in the sand did people make who were not born on this planet? I might be, with Katerina, the only two people who ever heard Dora tell the Dalai Lama’s question about people who were not born on this planet.

I LOVE it! And it is not uncommon to see past life and ancestral stuff come up in the tray, but one has to have the intuition in tune to pick it up. You were very fortunate to have such a wonderful experience with Dora . . . she sounds like quite the spirit. I was given a small amount of sand from her tray and told that it had been blessed by the Dalai Lama. I include a bit more about him and about their relationship based on a dissertation I read by Ann Fidel-Rice written in 2002. She interviewed Martin, so I include some of his memories about his mother. Interested in what your take is, and not surprised if I quoted people who may not have had the story/ies straight.

The reason I asked Dora if she’d had any ET stuff show up in clients’ sand trays was because I had my first ET experiences right after I started doing trays with Martin in 1988 and he said he had never had any experiences with ETs. I asked Dora that over lunch, the day before Katerina and I were to fly back to the States. Dora had a Mercedes taxi come and fetch us and took us up to the Dolder Hotel on the mountain overlooking Zurich. 5 star hotel, international high level political and business vortex, Italian waiters, Dora carried on with them in Italian, and in English with Katerina and me. Dora told at some point during that time I was in Zollikon, of meeting with the Dalai Lama in the Tibetans’ new location in India, and she went there prepared to ask him about some numbers, what they meant, and they had a nice talk and then he told her he would take her to meet his teacher, and they wen to meet the Dalai Lama’s teacher. Dora told of a time the Dalai Lama came to Zurich to see his displaced country men and women, which the Swiss had welcomed, as both Tibet and Switzerland were neutral countries, surrounded on three sides by big mountains, and the Swiss appreciated that and the Tibetans’ work ethic and morals. There was a big parade on a main road for the Dalai Lama, and when he and his procession got to where Dora was standing deep in the crowed from the street, the Dalai Lama turned and looked right toward where she was hidden by all the people in front of her and he waded into the crowd right to her and hugged her.

One day during that 1988 trip, I went with Martin and other people to a Tibetan temple near Zollikon and we watched a movie on Buddhism and afterward I asked Martin what role God played in Buddhism, and Martin said there was no God in Buddism, per se; Buddhism was about increasing consciousness. Another time during that trip Martin told me his path was 3-fold: his Buddhist studies, his Sandplay work, and his Jungian Analysis. By then he was married and had a small child. I wondered where that fit into his 3-fold path, and if God was kinda laughing about not fitting in? When I was with Katerina she was having serious experiences through me and adjacent with angels and Christian mysticism, but later she became Buddhist. I think many people thought Dora was Buddhist, but as I wrote earlier today, she said in my presence to many people that she was esoteric Christian. She also had a close relationship with the Eastern Orthodox Pontiff in Istanbul. She dropped in to see him on the return home from seeing the Dalai Lama in India.

One thing during the 1988 Zollikon trip really bugged me. There was an American therapist there, who was in Sandplay training, who kept talking about a client she had back in the States, a young boy who kept claiming he was having experiences with ETs, and she and other therapists in her circle of influence set out to cure him of that; and they paraded his case around at mental health seminars, and I let her have it one evening when she and several other of Dora’s students came over to the apartment we were renting, for dinner. I asked the therapist, how did she know the boy was not supposed to be having experiences with ETs? Her response was there was no such thing as ETs, or something like that. I had only just having experiences with ETs myself, but I had probably always known they existed. I could not believe that therapist was so constricted in her outlook, Sandplay is supposed to be open to just about anything. Supposed to be. One day in maybe 1993, I was with Katarina and her 10 year old son and a Smith College MSCW graduate, in our side yard, and I looked up for some reason and saw a spaceship sitting still beside a cloud maybe 2 miles up. I told them to look up at it. Naw, I’m making it up. Then the ship darted behind the cloud and I said, too late, the ship darted behind a cloud. Yeah, right. Then the ship stretched the cloud slowly across the sky like a big fat wide vapor trail, and I kept telling them to look up at what the ship was doing to the cloud, and they just said, yeah right, Sloan. That night the boy came to me and asked me if I had really seen a space ship. I asked him if he’d every known me to make anything up? No. You didn’t look up because you didn’t want them to laugh at you, right? Yes, he said. Well, that ship was there for you, and I bet the next time I tell you there is a spaceship above, you will look up at it. Yes. But there was not a next time when I was trying to raise him among people who could not, or would not, see or hear.

Within my circle of sandplay sisters (we call ourselves the sand witches), most would be open to the possibility of ETs. But then again, most within our small group of 5 are also fed up with the close mindedness and inflated egos and arrogance and exclusiveness of STA. It’s dog gone wrong that such a wonderful technique/ spiritual practice has become so dominated by shadow . . . and so animus obsessed - like we need any more of that!

Thanks for continuing to share your stories and ideas about SP. I will copy and save them for future reference. I feel like I’m being given a privileged glimpse into something about SP that I need to know, but don’t know for what purpose yet . . . I am very good at not-knowing. 🙂

In an earlier message I said that I had referenced Ann Fidel-Rice’s dissertation about Dora’s relationship to the Dalai Llama, but it was actually someone named Linda Bath who I cited, and her information came from Martin. SO many citations in the dissertation, yet Barbara Turner gave me a 3 out of 10 possible points for references in the final evaluation. It was her last chance to try to stop it from being published. I think she was very angry about the way I used the tray, but never came right out and said it. Another therapist who knows her quite well also told me that, “she’s great with her students, but an adversary of her peers.” Following the defense, during which I received the support of myriads of blessed holy angels, Barbara became very emotional and was the first to congratulate me as “Dr. Y” (thought that was the role of chairperson. The energy was truly divine. After it was all said and done and she signed off on it, I sent her a beautiful card with a luna moth image that read ‘All is God’. I and thanked her for her guidance over the years, and stated that I knew that our work together was over. She emailed me and said she received the card and was sorry I felt the way that I did, adding that she was always there to help me. That was last December, and I feel like the energetic ties and the negativity around all that has been dissolved. That being said, do have an intuition that Barbara wanted to take on the pathology of STA herself and that in some way passed that torch to me. Perhaps that is the reason that you and I are conversing now. More will be revealed, and I’m de-lighted with the mystery of it all.

Did you receive the email with my dissertation attached?

Yes, got your dissertation, have it open, the introductory pages wearing me out, so mental, but I suppose necessary for a dissertation and can’t figure out how to increase the font size, which is straining my eyes. I figure your father’s death underlies a lot of your journey so far. I think I recognized the 2 fish in his photo as northern pike. I used to be a fishing nut, read all the outdoor (fishing and hunting) magazines cover to cover when I was a boy.

I had just finished writing this to you below, when I stopped to look at your last message.

I know only one way to work through grief, and that is to do a lot of crying. Unfortunately, most people are not put together that way, and in my case it took angels many segments of my life, and many sessions within each session, to grieve what I had plenty grieving to do.

I lost a 7 week-old-son to crib death (sudden infant death syndrome it later came to be called). I lost relationships with women I loved dearly. I was estranged from my father and that never resolved. I was estranged from my daughters a long time, it was their decision, and that’s finally lifting.

I have wept oceans of tears during my life; perhaps that’s a blessing, that I was able to do that.

I think when a Sandplay series is begun, neither the client nor the therapist have a clue what the unconscious will work on first, second, third, fourth, etc. That also is how I found the kind of body-psycho-spiritual healing I learned, worked. Any agenda of the client or the therapist, if the unconscious was allowed to take over the therapy, tended to be rearranged by the unconscious, which is far wiser than the therapist or the client.

    You know all of that.

What I find myself wondering is what kind of work you do now?

And, why the angels arranged for you to find online something I had written about Sandplay?

When Katerina and I neared leaving Zollikon in 1988, we told Dora someone should write a book about her. She said she was not the person to do it and she knew no one to recommend. We could do it, she said. Katerina and talked about that excitedly on the way back to the States, but we got on with our lives instead.

Shortly after returning to the States, I had an experience during a telephone call from someone in Maine, who had read a book I once had written about practicing law and being a lawyer’s client, who was having a very rough go over a legal case, how she even found me as kinda a miracle, and during that conversation, after I told her I didn’t practice law like that anymore, she said she was thinking of going to a spiritual healer, and I said I sometimes did that and did she want to try to use that approach on her legal problem? Yes, she said. And I said, well tell me about it, and then it was as if a light switch was thrown. Suddenly I saw entirely differently. Every person in her legal problem represented someone else from her past, some event from her past, which had not resolved well, if at all; and we talked about how she could address the legal mess now, in a non-traditional way (contrary to how her ego wanted to do it), which would also affect the old unresolved issues, hurts, traumas, and that’s when my view of all of life being Sandplay started evolving. Started.

It was a while coming along, and it took a lot of being made to look at my own brushes with the law and other conflicts in life in that way; and of being stood in front of a mirror for a very long time, and plenty of refresher courses with the mirror. Katerina was witness to all of that, and then the training went into new phase, and another new phase, and then it got horribly difficult, pray to die, plot to kill myself difficult. Then it went through other phases.

Perhaps working with a well-developed Sandplay therapist for a long time would have bypassed a lot of that, but I did not have ready access to one, and it did seem to me I was headed elsewhere, at warp speed. To what purpose, I still can’t say I know, other than to increase my own spirit vibration/pace, velocity. I got to where I didn’t care to belong to any kind of organized group. Too confining. Maybe that’s where your soul is wanting to take you? Maybe your Sandplay mentor Barbara Turner represents people you had issues with, transference, counter transference; maybe she had as much to gain from having you as a client and mentee, as you had to gain from being her student and client?

garudaI don’t think the Garuda is about being bound up in any organized group. The Garuda is what Vishnu rode to earth, yes? Or something like that. The Indonesian airline is named Garuda, as I recall. Didn’t Dora teach that in the deepest part of their Sandplay process, the clients pick images from the other side of the globe? Maybe during my 4th session with Martin in 1988, I plopped the Garuda miniature into the middle of a sandtray, having no clue what it was. In October 2002, the woman I then was trying to paradise mate with came to me in a dream and said, “Sloan, you married Kali!” I awoke, in terror. Then I did several soul drawings of her, nothing like what the Hindu Kali paintings resemble. She’s been with me ever since. She kinda reminds me of a female Jesus.

Maybe your Sandplay witch friends might enjoy our conversation, it’s just any day someone who actually knows a little about Sandplay comes along, who is not constrained to be politically correct, which I happen to view as a terminal spiritual disease; and I actually have had real life experiences with Dora, Martin, and several of Katerina’s Sandplay therapist contemporaries, and also with older Sandplay therapists, Estelle Weinrib and Nessie Baylee, two dear friends, all of whom came a few times to Katerina’s and my home for long weekend Sandplay workshops during the early 1990s.

The younger Sandplay therapists in America were Lauren Cunningham, Lucia Chambers, Alexander Shaia, Gretchen Hegeman. Lucia was at Katerina’s and my home when this fell out of me probably April 2004, or maybe 2005.

    Shaman you now are.

Angels walk beside you and call you their brother

Even as you curse the heavens

for making you one who wields the lightning.

Be kind to your brothers and sisters,

    But take no prisoners -

Kill them all in my name

    as I have killed you,

So that you, and they, might live.”

I knew the voice was the Christ.

The core of my training was surrender to something a whole lot bigger than me, and a whole lot smarter.

This poem, which jumped out of me in March 2004, set off a serious commotion in me:

    Only fools rush in

    where angels fear to tread,

But if there were no fools,

    Who’d lead the angels?

I was pretty sure the answer was Jesus, now I know that was the answer. There is more to that story, which started right after the poem jumped out of me.

I stared feeling something huge wiggling into me. It felt wonderful. It was a really tight fit. It went on about 2 weeks. Out for my 4 mile morning walk one day, at the nadir of the walk, I realized the angels were all around me. Then I heard, “This thing coming into you is your angel twin. All people have an angel twin and yours is coming into you to live out this life with you.” Neat, I thought. “By the way, this is your son.” I nearly collapsed onto the ground thinking they meant my son who had died in infancy. Maybe years later, I thought maybe it was more than that, as the angels had started referring to that blacksmith as the son, and he was the Christ.

Hell of a ride, mine. And I only told you a small part of it today.

Date correction, that was April 1994 or 1995 when Lucia Chambers was in Katerina’s and my and that shaman poem fell out of me. In 2004 and 2005 I was in an entirely different experience, which started in early 2000 and pretty much is still underway, devoid any recognized forms of healing, therapy, or religious dogma.

Quick answer about what I do and then I must call it a night.

I live in the foothills of ________ with my husband and step-daughter. We’ve been together almost 7 years and have full custody of his daughter due to her mother’s drug use. He is from Bosnia and lived through the war there in the 90’s. He’s been a real estate agent for 12 years and does quite well with that. I help him with writing, editing, marketing. He’s very supportive of my artistic, poetic, spiritual nature and pursuits. I feel very grateful to have the support and financial support as well. I have a beautiful sandplay studio, but am not seeing clients at the moment. I’ve gathered the collection from all over the world since my introduction to Sand Tray in 1998, but didn’t complete my Sandplay training until 2010. I have a masters in clinical counseling, but do not wish to pursue licensure or to do any form of conventional or traditional counseling. Barbara told me I would be considered a pariah by my peers if I don’t have a license, but I could give a shit. My sandplay studio is a sanctuary and I’ve done exploratory work in there and plan to do more. I have completed advanced sandplay training, as I mentioned, and have learned much from that, but continue to learn and explore well outside the box. I will see the odd client, but will never make that my “job” . . . I will make writing my job and am happy to do that. I have written a series of children’s stories, all in rhyme, about a sprite named Triggadora. Editing them now . . . or should be editing. I have a strong feeling that I am suppose to write about sandplay, but it’s still gelling. More later. Have a lovely evening ~

Am about page 55 in your thesis; it’s too “scientific?” for me. I really liked the description of your octopus and squid sandtray and emotional impact on you. I always felt Dora’s strongest impact was stories she told and sometimes slides from old sandplay processes she showed on a screen with her rendition. I don’t know if you will share more sandtrays, yours or clients, in the thesis. I think Dora finally concluded it’s best never to show photo’s of a client’s trays, because that stops the process, which may be going on still 20 or 30 years later.

You might wish to ponder how what bugs you today about Sandplay Therapists of America might represent something from your past, an authority figure, parent, whatever. You are angry about STA. It is kinda a religion. I told Katerina and Lauren Cunningham in 1994, at a STA working conference in LaJolla, that the dearth of men, except for Alexander Shaia, and the animus-driven exhausting workshop from breakfast into the the later night time, indicated something awry in STA’s feminine. Lauren used to listen to me back then, we got along. I lost contact with her after Katerina and I went apart in 1995. Lauren and Gretchen were with Dora, and her Swiss aide, the night we all had dinner together in Monterrey. That’s when I first started getting to know Lauren and Gretchen, and Dora.

I recall perhaps it was during the 1988 month-long Sandplay training in Zollikon, that a couple of Dora’s students talked about seeing demonic activity in some clients’ sandtrays and they really did not like having that going on. It would be later than I was brought face to face with the reality of demonic influence, infection and possession, which I wonder if Sandplay can, or does, address? And I wonder if a sandplay therapist is infected, is it contagious, do that therapist’s clients get infected through the sandplay process?

You may very well be moving toward writing a book about Sandplay. I think if you go that way, you should simply tell your own experiences with Sandplay and the people you engaged in it, and clients albeit more discretely with them. Tell a story, containing lots of stories in the stories. Make it really personal, homey. People remember stories, stories tend to explain their points without much help from the left side of the brain. Your thesis might very well help advance Sandplay in therapeutic circles, but maybe your market for a book is the general public. Sure, you provide some theory: the container, the sacred space, the self, the silent way Sandplay works, instead of trying to figure it all out. And provide anecdotes of how that worked out beautifully for people.

I keep thinking of a story I heard Dora tell several times, of a young girl brought to Dora at her home by the child’s parents. The child was having night terror. Screaming out in her sleep, then waking up in great distress. The parents and the child talked a while with Dora, then the child said it was okay for her parent to leave. Dora told the child about her sandplay room and asked the child if she would like to see it? They went there and the child saw the two sandtrays, one with wet sand, the other with dry sand, and the bookshelves covered with miniature objects representing just about every thing imaginable of and not of this world. Dora asked the child if she would like to play with the miniatures in the sand? The child went to a shelf and picked up a rabbit and came back to one of of the trays and started making the rabbit hop around in the tray. That’s all the child wanted to do. Dora told the child a farmer living next door had rabbits, would she like to go next door and see if the farmer was home and if they could see his rabbits? The child said yes. So they went next door, the farmer was home, Dora asked the farmer if the child could see his rabbits? Sure. He took them to the rabbit hutch and reached in an pulled out a rabbit and handed it to the little girl who held and petted the rabbit until the session was over and she put it back into the rabbit hutch. When the child came back with her parents for the next session with Dora, she wanted to go see the farmer’s rabbits. She did not want to play in the sand. So they went next door, and the same thing happened as the first time. The next time the child came to see Dora, they did that again. I think that was when the night terror stopped. Maybe the next visit, Dora asked the child if she knew what had made her cry out in her sleep? The child said she kept having a dream. She was standing at the top of the stairs in her home, looking down at two gods standing on either side of the bottom of the stairs. Both gods were beckoning her to come to them, and she did not know which one to choose, and she screamed and woke up. Dora then told her students, you see, the child’s father was Austrian and her mother was Chinese. Two different cultures, two different gods, tearing the child apart inside. The child’s psyche was very wise, it picked the only symbol, the rabbit, which has the same meaning in the east and the west.

That’s the kind of story I doubt people will forget. It kinda reminds me of your octopus and squid story. I doubt you will be able to pry STA off it’s perch, but perhaps you can introduce the pubic to Sandplay in a way STA will never be able to do it, by telling Sandplay stories, and maybe that will draw men therapist to Sandplay, and people who never would even hear about Sandplay would be drawn to it, and in that way, perhaps your book might cause STA to slip off its perch in spite of itself. Maybe I will dream about this tonight.

🙂 Gosh you sure have a lot of energy to engage with the humans . . . mine is finite when it comes to such matters. You mentioned body sensations/issues/messages, and I very much relate to that. I had a very serious neck injury at birth and have experienced chronic pain all of my life. Diagnosed with fybromyalgia 25 years ago, but I know that just has to do with being highly sensitive to toxins and energy - and toxic energy. My interaction with humans is very limited these days, yet there are other ways of staying connected and contributing. Like so many others, I am aware of the shift - the precarious shift and that there are no guarantees in terms of the outcome for humanity. But I do trust that the angelic realm is here to assist, and that we need to ask for that assistance. I did two weeks of ceremony with shamans in Peru in 2014 and the Mother came to me and taught me much. When she first appeared half of her face was death and decay - horrible and frightening, and the other half was beyond description of beauty. She told me, “I am all things, life and death, light and dark . . . ” She then transformed to only the beautiful side of her face as she continued to teach me about the father. A few days after I left the village in the Amazon jungle and was in a little city, I came across a painting that captures her as well as any image could. It also captures the lime green color that she breathed into my left side and that twinkled through my entire body. I’ll look for the picture.

Had no dreams last night, or that I recall, about our correspondence yesterday. Did recall passing through your once and visiting with a fellow and his wife I had had come correspondence with over his war with the National Association of Realtors, a war in which I once had been deeply involved, and he was still fighting it. By then I was being rearranged by angels. I told him perhaps he should move on, let go of the war. He didn’t. Later, he came down with a bad medical problem and I wondered if it was tied to his ongoing war with NAR? Actually, I knew it was related, but I didn’t tell him; what would be the point? I feel you should not go to war with STA, is what I’m saying. I do not think you will like how that ends up for you in the karma sense. There is something there for you to get to the bottom of, which is inside of you and STA is mirroring back to you. The angels who connected us can help you get to the bottom of it.

I think there is a great deal of anger in you still over your father’s suicide, if not toward him, then toward what drove him to it, or it’s both. Sandplay is a good approach for lots of troubles, but it is limited to the development of the therapist and to the willingness and ability of the client to continue the therapy, and it does not replace dealing with life’s challenges head on, but it can release something in the client to enable the client to do that. I have known some people who were with shamans in South America, had very serious experiences with them. Returned to America ignited, but that for them was just a starting point. They still had to chop the wood and carry the water every day, and I mean that in many ways. There is no way to successfully dodge the tests our souls agree to experience; the more tests we take, the faster we change, evolve; maybe the fewer times we have to reincarnate here? Or somewhere.

I have been publishing daily on different topics for a long time, even before I could afford to have websites. I used email blasts to a big email contact list. It is a major part of the job the angels arranged for me to have, the publishing. It works me over really awful, because the shit and poison in the situations arranged for me to engage passes right through me, like I’m a sewerage treatment plant. Something shamans know all too well. After the angels made me a shaman, they made me a Melchizedek priest. Actually, a Melchizedek exorcist priest. Nothing like seen in movies about exorcists. I’m in daily engagement with demonic forces, usually through their human proxies, who tend not to have any clue they are being influenced by demonic forces and are not open to that being even a possibility. The New Age does not even recognize the existence of Evil, or Lucifer, which pleases Lucifer immensely. Christendom believes Jesus saved it from Lucifer, which pleases Lucifer immensely. I no longer can spend time in churches without feeling the palpable presence of Lucifer. Same for New Age gatherings. For examples.

I think maybe you might provide a good service to people using Sandplay as your lead. But maybe to do that you should get licensed in your state. Some rebellions might not be worth fighting. I don’t know about that for sure, but your spirit guidance does. I say that because you have a lot of time and, I suppose, money invested in Sandplay. I think there is a reason for that beyond your wanting to straighten out STA, which might be akin to trying to straighten out Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton, or the Republican and the Democratic Parties 🙂. Or Christianity. Or Islam. Or Judaism. Probably the only thing any person has a decent chance of straightening out is him/herself, with considerable help from God, by whatever name called. The planet and humanity are on parallel transits still, but maybe the time comes when the planet decides enough is enough. Or ETs decide that. Or angels. It’s all I can say grace over just engaging what the angels arrange for me to experience.

I see that my last note to you did not send, so am resending before replying to the above. Or maybe it did go through and just doesn’t appear in our strand of conversation: In terms of the dissertation, UGH - I know. It is a recipe and a game - an endurance test, and I played along. One of the things that helped me to finish was to tell myself that it was just a start and that the real writing would happen post dissertation. Who reads them anyway? Though I may be able to use some of the writing. I also have lots of other writing - stories, as you wisely advised. I like the idea of making the writing about sandplay full of juicy and compelling stories . . . and I really like the idea of attracting more men to the work. I don’t feel that I am in recovery from the cult of sandplay so very much, as I always kept a certain distance. I did the training, consultation, and process, but did not pursue registration through STA. I’ve always been very resistant to being a part of that elitist club - or any club for that matter. I’m quite content being a lone wolf, and I care very little about what others think of me. Perhaps this comes from experiencing a lot of loss and death. Perhaps. My childhood was very violent and I lost a soul mate when I was 8 years old. Only when I was in Peru was I finally able to let go of the grief around that and re-story my relationship with him. Truth be told, I have been a terrible griever throughout my life and it is my Achilles. Yes all of life is sandplay . . . and you are right on about the transference with Barbara - she was my mama in the tray of life, and I continue to move and add and integrate and re-move and re-story. I too think there is business with my dad, probably more around the pain of his severe dyslexia (my twin brother is also severely dyslexic and very disturbed for many reasons) both brilliant, both tragic lives. You’ve helped me clarify some important stuff, and I feel challenged to put it into words. I was born in a museum in Aurora, Illinois (my mother was the curator) and lived there for the first 6 years of this life. I think the sandplay stories might start there. All of life is sandplay . . .

I dunno why I didn’t see it right away. Why was Barbara Turner on your dissertation review committee? If you had done a Sandplay process with her, that should have disqualified her to judge your dissertation. Un-professional conflict of interest, to say it most kindly. My mind drifts to incest, inbreeding, boundary issues, and attachment disorder, and, well, to cult leader not wanting let her perceived disciple go. I come back to ON A SPACESHIP WITH BEELEZEBUB. I hope you can acquire that book and you will read it. I think your writing about Sandplay might be kindred to that author’s stories about his experiences with and leaving the 2 different Gurdjieff leaders and their very tight-knit communities. You have many books in you, maybe, but because of my deep and long experiences with Katerina and Sandplay, Dora, Martin, STA, and perhaps 2 dozen STA members, I really do think maybe your first book will be inside that container. And perhaps you will be able to get it published. And perhaps that will launch you in ways you cannot yet imagine. And, yes, it will need to include your time with Barbara Turner, and her not wanting you to move on, and her being on your dissertation review committee - unimaginable that she did it, even if you wanted her to do it, even if you ok’d it, it it was not okay, she should have declined, she should have been told by the school or the other committee members it was not ok, she could not participate - if the others knew she had been, maybe still was, your therapist. That is REALLY serious, Barbara being on your dissertation review committee. But maybe the way to deal with it is simply to write your book about your experiences with Sandplay, Barbara, etc. Like the author of ON A SPACESHIP WITH BEEZEBUB did. A very good, often gripping, piercing, jolting report, which he needed to write, I imagine, to move into what he was to do next.

And, I bet, writing that book will be healing, and a challenge at times, for you in many ways you cannot possibly imagine at this time. We are talking about alchemy now. Shaman work. Priestess work. I dunno, maybe you might call it something like, hmmm, THE THE WITCHES OF EASTWICK, but it’s THE SAND WITCHES MEET A REAL WITCH. Thanks for pointing out the inappropriate relationship with Barbara — I really dislike the word appropriate, btw, but sometimes it does have its place. I had actually started my process with Gretchen Hedgeman, but lucky me, discovered after six sessions that she was in the early stages of dementia. I shared my experiences about what had happened in session with Barbara who then advised me not to even answer the phone if she called. It really was some crappy stuff, like being asked to disassemble my own tray - picking other people’s shit out of my tray - being told that one of the figurines was her and that because I put it in there I was questioning her ability to hold my process, and more. She didn’t take photos and was at times rather ghost-like. Very not present. So on to Barbara I went. I also completed the required consultation hours for STA with her and all of my training, which is another no-no. STA requires that supervision and training be done by different people. Ah well, I wasn’t in it for that. I realized last night that I have a lot already written in interesting emails back and forth with Barbara over the years. I need to do some digging and printing and organizing. Lots of stuff spinning in my head at the moment, but another piece that is very positive and very full of light is the relationship I had with my counselor/spiritual teacher named Odra back in the early 90’s. She worked very energetically and symbolically and was in touch with the spirit realm and very gifted with inner-child work. She was doing sandplay in her work in the very best and most dedicated, sincere and wise way. I know that my work with her prepared me for understanding and immediately falling in love with sandplay/tray. I have some yummy stuff written about my time with Odra and will have to dig that out too. My step-daughter starts school on Monday, so good timing to start work on this. Stuff is starting to cook - - thanks for helping to turn up the heat. 🙂

I really don’t think you should do any more Sandplay therapy, as a client, with anyone. I’m very sorry to hear of Gretchen’s troubles. I liked her. Way you described it, at some level Gretchen was warning you off, don’t come see her. And you were warning yourself off. STA is showing Gretchen as retired. Later.

Whenever I hung the drawings, it was with a push pin through the top corner nearest the damsel’s head - must of been 300 drawings at one time, most would be hung on the diagonal because drawn on the diagonal. About half were drawn with the right side being the hanging point. I had no clue what they would look like when I began sketching them on the 140# water color paper. They drew their own selves. And they tended to bring information and sensations and feelings, and even were prophetic. Kinda reminded me of Sandplay sessions, but more up close and personal in some ways.

So it goes when one has capacity to hold multiple points of view . . . perspective outside of the norm or the known. Swimming in the mainstream is not easy when you have feathers.

A couple years ago I had a dream that my blood was tested and the results came back showing that I had angel blood. I like that, and I like to think that everyone has angel blood, but that sort of thinking has gotten me in trouble numerous times. I’ve made some progress in terms of discretion, but accept that I am a bit handicapped when it comes to judging character and intentions. My husband, ______, is a great help. He is gifted with reading people and has very solid boundaries. Try as I might, after almost half a century of life and many burns and scars, I still have questionable boundaries. I know this is my responsibility and I own it. I take on people’s “stuff” and that requires a lot of clearing. I’m getting better at clearing.

I shared some of our correspondence with ______ and he enjoyed it - so very different from what he deals with daily in the business world. He’s remarkably open and also has a way of grounding me when I drift too far off into orbit. He commented that he thinks you misinterpreted my intentions in terms of wanting to go to war with STA. That has never been my intention, not consciously anyway, and I really have kept a considerable distance from the organization. I’d like to contribute to expanding the technique, perhaps into other fields, and I know that it is a tool of the divine feminine - the Mother, to whom my heart belongs.

______ also asked why you suggested that I get licensed. The way I see it, having a license would make me a target and also a bit of a prisoner. On top of following the “rules” of appropriate clinical conduct, one must continue formal education hours and pay yearly fees. I don’t plan on seeing enough clients to make billing insurance necessary, so I don’t know why I would need it?? The idea is claustrophobic.

I am a loyal, honest and devoted Sagittarian, born the year of the dog, mystically bent and swimming in poetry. I’ve been told by indigenous shamans that I am a healer. I do not call myself a shaman or a witch, though very much admire Glinda of OZ and would love her job! Having a PhD in Transformative Studies and my thanatology and grief certifications as well as my MARI certification (mandala assessment and research instrument) seems to me to be enough to qualify me to work with the odd client. That being said, I’m open to your advice about the matter.

Thank you for the photos of your artwork. They remind me of the feeling I get looking through Jung’s Red Book. Though female, your muse has a lot of yang/animus, even the lines of the marker feel male. I crave water. And speaking of that, I spent a couple weeks on a lake in northern Wisconsin this summer at my mother’s home. She had some of my artwork from 20 + years ago, and here’s a photo of a watercolor that I think you might enjoy.

    lovely watercolors …

you said a couple of times you wanted to out STA for its attitude (arrogance, etc.), I view that as going to war with STA; just telling your story will paint the watercolor of what actually went down …

I meant you get licensed by the State of Idaho, as a mental health practitioner, if you were not already so licensed … You don’t needs STA’s permission to do sandplay … Hell, the Jungian Institute in Zurich was teaching it without its sandplay teachers even having done Sandplay with Dora Kalff 🙂

Mainstream maybe for some time to come have grave trouble with people who dream they have angel blood … or who talk about angels talking to them … when I run for public office here in the Keys, I say it’s because angels told me to do it, if I knew what was good for me, and that guarantees I won’t get elected 🙂

I got locked up on a psych ward for telling a real live Nurse Rached (One Flew Over) of when the angels first came to me and what they told me and what they then did to me, and for a while after spilling that to Nurse Rached, who worked under a psychiatrist I could call Dr. Rached, I didn’t think I’d ever see the free world again … but a rescue was arranged, and then the black night of the soul came, far worse than a dark night, which I’d had already, and had read about both in St. John of the Cross’ commentaries … I knew the angels had done it to me, and I knew there was nothing I could do about it, and I knew everyone thought I was crazy, and all I could think about was killing myself … For 16 months that went on, aggravated awful by being addicted to anti-psychotics and anti-depressants, which were killing me in other ways … Then came another rescue, in its own way nearly as awful as the black night, but not quite … Then came being put to work, about as bad as the rescue from the black night, but not quite … Been to lots of psychic rodeos up close and personal …all angel induced … no psychotropics … au naturale, which tends to freak out younger people using psycothrophics and/or wanting to be shamans … not to mention freaking out most everybody else …

Never gave much thought to the masculine in my soul drawings, I wuz busy swooning over the damsels emerging and the sensations and information coming in with them …

I don’t freak easily and have experienced enough of the paranormal or other normal to not jump to judgments. I’ve conversed with angels since I was in my single digits. They aren’t as vivid these days, but always there . . . always guiding. I sense the energy and of course pay attention to the synchronicities. I stay open. These days my garden is a portal and a lot of conversing happens in there. I am very grateful for the sanctuary and for the peaceful place I’m in presently.

In terms of the masculine in your drawings, that’s also indicated by the placement of yellow - a masculine color, the color of intellect and consciousness - the sun/son. Blue is feminine, flow, water, nurturing . . . the good mother, the Mother. Green synthesizes the masculine and feminine energies. There is a forcefulness and an edginess about them and they feel slightly disturbing for reason. How long ago did you create them?

I finished art school in ’95 and painted lot back then - gave away most of my paintings, but have managed to do a bit here and there over the years. I took my collection of watercolor paints that were in storage at my mom’s recently, and have a place set up to paint. Fall is always a good time for creating and I’m looking forward to playing with colors again. Here’s another from that time period . . . I painted a lot of blue people.

    Like this painting, too.

Those 3 drawings I posted her were circa 2007, I had no art training, and was using Crayola watercolor markers for 99 percent of the drawings, which started mostly as abstract stuff done on the ears of cardboard box tops in fall of 2002 after a professional psychic friend described a mandala she’d seen me paint on a canvas. I used no brushes in the drawings, the what look like maybe brush strokes were made by my first and second left fingers and thumb smeared with Crayola watercolor marker, water soluble. The drawings came in waves through 2005, then slowed down, and then started again in 2006 and 2007, then was a short spurt in late 2013 and early 2014, then a couple later. It was a blizzard of those drawings when they were really coming through me. Now it’s nearly all writing, which was my main medium expression starting around 1983, before the angel abduction in early 1987. The end of that Sloan, but he didn’t know it yet. Was 44 when the abduction happened. Or the conscription perhaps less dramatic way of saying it. Before that, I was not having any conscious other realm experiences, but was wishing I did. After that, I came to understand, be careful what you ask for; we plan, God laughs!; etc.

Mustang Sally showed up in my FB timeline as having done something there 2 years ago today … Much later, I realized she was my psychic friend who had dreamt of me painting a mandala which led to the drawings gushing out of me. My friend went strong denying that could be here, she’d never do anything like that, although her and Mustang’s body shape and face kinda match up - I told her it was a soul drawing, it was her soul who had me draw her, and my friend said that could not possibly be, she knew her soul very well, and I said, ha!

Do you remember your dreams? I ask, because one of the things I see over and over in what you shared with me about your life is your reliance on someone else to steer you, mentor you, argue with you, scold you, pat you on the back, pick you up when you crash and burn. I cannot but think, if you intersected me, that means its time or you to be one on one with the angels for the rest of your life. You say you were hearing from them during your childhood. I was 44 years old when they first came and spoke to me. They have hardly shut up since. The quickly weaned me from depending on anyone but them, and dreams friends of mine had about me, and an occasional verbal human messenger in a particular moment, to steer me. It is so very easy to get trapped in a human “system”. I suppose you have done some systems work, or have studied it. Systems are living organisms, which perceive any attempt to change the system, such as a person tries to leave it, or someone tries to persuade a person to leave it, as a lethal threat to the system, and the system responds accordingly to the threat. There is always something bigger than the system we now are in. I am pretty sure what is meant by spiritual ascension is jumping systems, and jumping systems, and jumping systems …

    8/22, 7:02pm

    Y

Yes, i’m a vivid dreamer, but mostly keep them to myself. I have had times when I would write 20-30 pages of dreams each day, got overwhelming. I lived through a lot of violence and physical and emotional abuse as a child, also experienced a lot of loss and death, so that set me on a seeking path very early. I love to learn, and love to explore - have lived in 4 different countries and traveled to over 20. I’m a learning, growing, creating junkie - musician, poet, artist, psychologist . . . always exploring and learning. And one thing I know for sure is that there is no one way or one right way to do this life. I also know it’s all about bringing more light to this place - earth is the darkest spot in the universe. I do not deny the darkness, but I remain focused on the light and bringing more light to this dark world in any way that I can. My involvement with sandplay had a lot to do with wanting to help my father who was severely dyslexic and had difficulty with verbal communication as well. What I came to realize was the he was medicating his grief and that his grief was at the core of his suffering. Writing the dissertation on that topic was satisfying on a soul contract level. The PhD is not so significant to me, though I trust it will serve some sort of purpose. As I mentioned, I would very much like to write about the reality of the absurdity of the PhD and why people don’t need to put themselves through the misery of pursuing one. I stay open to the Great Imagination.

I never spent much time trying to write down my dreams. I wake up, ponder them; sleep, wake up, ponder more dreams; wake up, get on with the day with the dreams in my thoughts, sometimes they come right into play that day; sometimes later. If you write your story about your experiences with Sandplay, which is the topic I was arranged to mostly discuss with you, that will take you places you cannot yet imagine. If you get up in a pulpit when you do that, it won’t tell the story as well; the preaching will distract. The story tells everything. Who did what and when, that was said, what dreams came, etc. I keep thinking of where I entered our conversation with Carl Jung’s quote about making the darkness conscious. I heard said many times, the shadow cannot be gotten away from, if follows us everywhere and it has its say one way or another. It’s rougher if we ignore or try to run away from it.

I really appreciate the encouragement to just write the stories about my experiences with sandplay. And one dream in particular comes to mind now. I shared it with Barbara at the time and she interpreted it. I’ll have to dig out the correspondance, but it had to do with finding a staff in a hole in the sand on a beach and that there were rainbow threads on one end and a snake skin on the other. A crow landed on the staff and the snake came to life and I was afraid to take it back to the sandplay room because I thought it still might have venom. There are other dreams and synchronicities and many stories. I do still wonder how far back I should start. Being born and partly raised in the museum with a dyslexic father and twin is definitely part of my sandplay story. I guess I just need to stop talking about writing and write . . . and then stitch the pieces together later. I do trust the angels to lead the way. Thank you for your re-minders and in-couragement. 🙂

Sloan - Taking a private conversation and putting it in your blog without asking permission is not okay. Please remove my name, and the name of friends who posted on the private thread from my FB page, from your electronic news paper. Perhaps you do not realize that when you do such a thing, it becomes public information, and anyone searching for me or for my friend’s names/info then has access to what was intended to be a private FB conversation, not communication in your blog/electronic paper. I do have some public posts, but this was NOT one of them. I have removed it from FB, but that does not remove it from your page. I don’t know if you are aware of how frequently your posts to me as well as emails, have been antagonistic and the way in which I try to reply patiently and respectfully. I do not want to continue to have to engage with you in this way. Had the conversation been on your page and with your friends, I would NEVER have copied it and put it into a public post without asking permission. The same goes for private email conversation. Thank you for understanding.

The stresses you are feeling, physical, psychic, might be rooted in something else than this from the cosmos. What you and I discussed privately for quite a while was very deep. Many things in your psyche and body were touched by it. That book about sandplay is very important, for you. Perhaps a lot more important for you, than for anyone else. But it’s important that you write it grounded. Level. Like the fellow wrote ON A SPACESHIP WITH BEELZEBUB. If you are intending to change Sandplay, you miss the point of writing the book. If you knit yourself together, better, that is wonderful result of writing the book. But the getting there necessarily will put you up against yourself, your own shadow. That is always where the real work is done. The angels stood me before a mirror a very long time, and kept giving me refresher courses, even now. Whatever hold the New Age has on what might be really in play, is still pretty hard to determine. There have been many things published by various names about stuff coming into humanity. Of stuff happening by a certain date. That’s interesting, but what’s going on right now in our daily lives is the only thing we can get a grip on and try to do the alchemy inherent in it. Turning ourselves from lead to gold, in the spirit sense. That’s what the author of the Beelzebub book was up to, and what Gurdjieff was up to, and Jesus, for examples. If there is no antagonism, there is no alchemy. Antagonism is the grist for the alchemy. And risk. And mystery. Nobody knows whats really going on is my take on all I have seen and read. And anyone claiming they know and are charging money for it, to share it with others, threads dangerous karma potential, in my estimation. At one time, it was forbidden to profit from spiritual teaching, sharing the mysteries. Religion forgot that Jesus did not charge, for example, or Buddha, for another example. The New Age has turned spirituality into big business.

You might wish to check it to see if I overlooked something that IDs you. That is very important, what you published, but maybe not for the reason you might feel. What I wrote to you above is something all who are involved in that kind of perspective need to consider. So much out there is interesting, but actually a diversion, and can be a trap. Like you found STA was a trap, for you. Jungian paradigm also can be a trap. Jung was Jung, he was not a Jungian.

Hi Sloan - I can see how it was easy to miss that the post was private (friends only) and also recall that I had given you permission in our earlier conversation to post what we had discussed in your blog, so I can understand the reason you thought it was okay. I really appreciate you removing names. In today’s technological environment everything is linked, and even a small comment can so easily be taken out of context. Employeers, ex-s, etc., can use unconventional conversation to turn a very sane person into a nutter, as you likely know. Incidently, I don’t think that I ever got “trapped” by STA. Though I fulfilled all the requirements, I did not apply for registration through them. Also, you may appreciate the fact that I have not charged for my sandplay work with many - most of my clients.I am only seeing one person at the moment and not feeling ready to see more than that. I do get paid quite well for editing and writing for my husband’s real estate company, and feel very thankful for that. I also have the responsibility of the bulk of child care and all the household needs, and that in itself is a part time job. As far as the book about sandplay goes, I think you made some excellent points about the technique being about all of life - - I have had others express this to me as well, and it is not a new idea, but your words gave it clarity and weight. I also approach the tray as an integral process, and so continue to incorporate meditation, color theory, eastern spiritual insights and shamanic practices, among other things. This too is not new, and has been my way of working with the tray for almost 2 decades now. You may recall my mentioning this in various ways throughout my dissertation. The fact that I took a hermeneutic phenomenological approach and used the tray interpretively, and by deving into my own psyche, also reflects this out of the box approach. It is published, so the work of expanding the possibilities for sandplay is happening. I am not a Jungian, btw, similiar to the way that Christ was not a christian. I do used the Jungian lens, along with several other pairs of glasses. 🙂 Be well ~

    Sloan Bashinsky

Morning, Y – There are indeed many sets of glasses, prisms, portals, perspectives, dimensions, and I confess the New Age still puzzles me, even as I hope it represents something new coming in that will benefit all of humanity, which seems to me to need a lot of help. From what all you have shared with me about your personal experiences with sandplay, and your wanting to call them out for their arrogance, I think you are deeply enmeshed with them and you need to be freed from that in a way that accelerates your own soul’s vibration, which, in turn, will ripple in various ways into sandplay, the people you knew there, the organization itself, and into people whom you might later encounter, either by being their therapist using sandplay and whatever else you have at your disposal to try to help them, and through the book I think your soul is just dying to write, and the angels who have been with you all along are anxious to help you write. Back in the old days, the healers in a tribe were looked after by the tribe, which understood just how important to the tribe its healer, or shaman, or medicine man or woman, actually was; and also the healer’s apprentice, who would become the tribe’s healer eventually. Today, that approach is mostly a quaint remembrance, if it is remembered at all. Charging for psychotherapy, for example, or for surgery, or for internal medicine, for other examples, is how it is done today in “modern civilization”. I recall, though, reading and hearing quite a few times, in old China, for example, doctors were paid by patients who got better, or well, and were not paid by their patients who did not get better, or well. 🙂 Would that be the standard today in “modern civilization”, I imagine there would be a whole lot less doctors and healers of any and all kinds. 🙂

What I found back when I did healing work with individual people, and in groups, was this: If people were able to engage something currently up for them in a new way, as in, a way they had not yet thought of, a way their ego was not pushing them to pursue, a way their friends and family, or there society, or their programming was not pushing them to pursue, then they experienced a shift, kinda magical, which they themselves were able to observe in themselves and in what was going on around them. And if they kept engaging life in that way, taking the road less traveled by, they moved along quite nicely, And, if they were starting to be in tune with what the invisible forces were pushing their way, and accepting higher wisdom than their own and going with it, they experienced even further shifts. However, it did become necessary at that stage to start discerning what they were hearing from the invisible; there are markers, attributes, which can be accepted as reliable, safe, benevolent, as opposed to something else. Probably the biggest marker, attribute, I have encountered is the “Oh shit” feeling, I’ve been nailed. Also, the, “Oh my God, why didn’t I see that sooner!” Or the, “Gosh, that really makes sense out of what was making no sense.” Or, simply, the sudden, overwhelming, “Ah, ha!” Revelation. Out of the blue. No two people are wired the same, which is why religion can be a real trap, because it tends to apply its views indiscriminately to every one of its members.

I concluded, eventually, that religion is much broader than what people today view as religion, or religions. Sandplay, for example, is a religion. Jungian Analysis, is a religion. The Republican Party is a religion. The Democratic Party is a religion. The New Age is a religion. AA is a religion. Wicca is a religion. Just as much as Christendom, Islam, Judaism, Yoga, Buddhism, Taoism, and even shamanism are religions. However, I personally think shamanism is far closer to the meat of the coconut today, what actually remains of the spirit of shamanism, than any of the other religions I have had dealings with in this live. I wonder if there was a time when all people were shamans, each in their own way? Jesus clearly was a shaman; a super shaman, I think. Imagine a world where all people are shamans. Is that what the New Age is really about? That would be remarkable. Gnosticism vindicated. Every person being directed, taught, corrected by The Spirit World. Heaven. God. The Universe. The Force. Many, many names for whatever is IN CHARGE.

Well, that’s my 2 cents worth for now. I have some medical stuff in front of me today locally, regarding our local hospital and genetically-altered mosquitoes, which are on the local front burners. I suppose on some mysterious, or not so mysterious way, depending on various whatevers, it’s all interconnected, strands in the great spider web that is the Creation, or at least an integral part of that web. Pluck one strand of the Web, the entire Web feels it, in some way. I imagine the Hopis of old, maybe still today, saw it that way. They called her Spider Woman, I think. The Taoists called her Tao, I think Jesus called her The Holy Spirit, I think. I might include this latest chat, sans your name, in today’s menagerie at goodmorningkeywest.com. Sloan

I think it will be easier transition if new born humans are already wired as shamans when they take their first breath. The process of becoming ia shaman is incredibly difficult, I don’t know anyone living who wants to endure that that training I know a few people it happened to, the Spirit World did it to them. Different from training under a tribe shaman, using or not using psychedelic herbs to boost it along. I’ll look into the book, Rudolf Steiner was pretty tuned in. He was the nemesis of Hitler and his inner circle, because he could spirit travel and eavesdropped their secret meeting, and since they had spirit vision and hearing given to them by a major demon, they knew he was there with him. Twice they tried to have him killed He knew of both attempts in advance, made no effort to protect himself, turned it over to God. Both times, other influences/people got wind of it and saved Steiner. THE SPEAR OF DESTINY, by Trevor Revenscroft, and actual Grail initiate. Perhaps the most important book written in the 1900s. Or tied with Father Malachi Martin’s HOSTAGE TO THE DEVIL. Both showed up in my life around 1994, to get me ready for what lay ahead. The New Age I knew denied Evil, Lucifer, existed. I would have many experiences to the contrary. Still have them. I suppose the MRSA on my right leg represents Evil in the hospital and people there who are not behaving, and maybe still some of that is reflecting back Evil in me; all part of this fun alchemy, or, shaman work.

Yeah, I’ve observed a lot in terms of how Christian-dumb and Native American spirituality/religion both focus on old Lucifee (as my grandmother called the devil) in one way or another. Christians often talk more about the devil than they do about the Holy Spirit and and demons more than the blessed holy angels. Natives also tend to talk more about the “trickster” than the Creator. And I’ve seen the ill effects in both sects. I’ve learned to keep my distance from the lot, not because I deny the existence of evil, but because I know that thoughts contribute energy to the field, and I choose not to invest my energy in focusing on the devil and demons. When I do encounter it, I tell it to take a hike. We have choice in this matter and do not need to dwell on hell. Planet earth is the darkest spot in the universe and our job is to bring more light in any way we can. Light ~ healing ~ peace ~ love . . . not sissy stuff as it’s so often made out to be. Off to my garden portal to water and listen to creation. 🙂

If this planet is the darkest spot in the universe, then it needs a heap of light pointing that out. Steiner was reporting to the Allied Command what he was gleaning from the meetings Hitler was having with his inner circle. That was not known, or that Hitler and some of his top henchmen had been enhanced by the demon, until Ravenscroft wrote his book, which actually his Grail teacher had set out to write, against a great deal of opposition - the world was not ready argument - and then he died, so Ravenscroft turned on the lights.

With regard to Isis Maria Sophia, the feminine/Divine Feminine, many times was I told, and one of the women the angels put me with or a while was told, that humanity’s problem is absence of the feminine. That is the cause of all wars, including all man-made wars; most diseases, physical and mental; and just about anything else awry with humanity and individuals. I think it was in 2012, that I was asked to make a prayer for a Divine Intervention of the feminine into USA. Which I did. I’ve been wondering how that might play out, and still am wondering. Hillary Clinton has a heap of warts, is a shapeshifter, doesn’t seem to big on truth telling, or smarts at times. She looks more to me like a man in a woman’s skin.

During the night of 9/8-9/9, 2001, a familiar voice asked me in my sleep, “Will you make a prayer for a Divine Intervention for of humanity?” I woke up, wondered that that was about? Made the prayer. On 9/11 I figured I knew what it was about. Also still wondering how that is playing out?

🙂 I make that prayer daily and nightly and through my work with the MARI, the sand, writing and painting. Spirit is calling me to return to painting the mother ~ the moon ~ water ~ celestial fluid ~ light . . . I pray that I am able to manifest the Holy Spirit, and know that there are many like myself who are being called to open to the divine feminine source and bring this harmony to the present chaos. I deal with Hillary the same way I deal with ol lucifee and the demons, and that is by refusing to get sucked into their bullshit. I don’t deny that she’s a wicked man, but I don’t waste any time on it either. I really like what I’ve read about Jill Stein. If voting was worth anything, that would be a vote well spent. Yes, we’re in a chaotic and dark time, but the Mother is an alchemist and things are cooking as God re-members who God IS. All is well.

I, too, like what I have read about Jill Stein, and in a video of her being interviewed. I am given stuff to engage, and then I have to work through it. Some stuff is awful to work through, some stuff just hard work, some stuff goes kinda okay, eventually. I write a bit about that in today’s post not yet ;published at goodmorningkeywest.com, related to MRSA, the local hospital. For a couple of months the angels had me writing about Hillary, Trump, etc. just about daily. I’m conscripted. They own me. The angels. Will share this recent between us with my readers, without ID-ing you.

Thanks, Sloan. You should probably know that the mother of the child I have custody of hunts for my words in order to make me into a new age nut, and if you include my name in chat, it will show up with a search - and could end up in court. So I really appreciate being able to chat openly and not worry that my words are going to be taken out of context, misinterpreted, or used against me. Thank you for your understanding. Curious what the Y stands for in the convo threads?

Something from the “new age” community, which I figure has about 2 billion disciples on this rock pile called Earth:·

“There are 3 Gateways or influxes of deep space energy arriving one after the other: on September 1st, peaking on September 10th; September 16th peaking on September 22nd and September 28th. We are now deep in the curve of a global, collective and personal Reset which is altering our physicality, our thinking, our emotional programmes and our spiritual DNA. The discovery of Deep Space Planets – Evolutionary Intensified Objects – is erasing then morphing the old binary separation between individual small Me Self and the Transpersonal into a psychosynthesis – a generative feedback loop from Self to Source and back again.” – Lorna Bevan (Hare in the Moon)

Sloan Bashinsky I just now looked at her page, looks like it’s about Astrology. I can’t eat or pay the rent with my astrology, nor with what anyone tells me it might mean. I wuz told by the first astrologer I saw, in Santa Fe, shortly after I moved there in early 1986, that I had 5 signs in my sun, Libre, Virgo moon, Aires rising, and something like 9 of my signs were in air, and 1 each in water, earth and fire. Much later, a woman I was running with a while, had been a profession psychic, said air is fire’s fuel, I must be making a heap of fire. She said she was at work on day, and she heard real plain, “Sloan was Lincoln!” Can’t eat any of that or pay any bills with it, either. Maybe that was before human scientists decided Pluto wasn’t a planet after all. ? That astrologer in Santa Fe seemed kinda blown away by my chart. She gave me a prediction how it was gonna go for me, didn’t turn out that way. But then, maybe after I prayed to God for help and offered my life to human service, and Jesus and Archangel Michael later came to me in the nighttime and woke me up, I had no clue then who they were, but assumed they were angels, and told me, “This will push you to your limits, but you asked for it and we are going to give it to you,” then I was physically jolted by 3 successive bolts of what I figured was spiritual lightning, it was electrical, I saw 3 bright flashes,” and then they dissolved back into wherever they had come from, maybe that erased my astrology. It sure set out to erase just about every thing else. That I had hoped, dreamed, wished for. Still doing that. And I’m still just doing what I can to get through each day, not even knowing if I will still be alive tomorrow. Got to where people involved in the esoteric arts just threw up their hands, after spending a while trying to work with me, and stuff was coming to me to share with them, for them, and I was paying them to help me :-).

Sloan Bashinsky I sincerely do hope Spirit, God, whatever is in charge, is sending something new in that will seriously adjust humanity in a positive way, although the initial encounter, encounters, might not be happily received. Dreamt a bunch last night about how hate and war are in charge, instead of love, and how the New Testament ways keep overriding New Testament way taught by Jesus. Especially regarding war.

Reply: I hear ya . . . may be you have a whole different constellation than the one your body came in with. The Hare in the Moon lady seems to have some other sensitivities and collective insights and uses the astrological stuff as a tool. I learned that Carl Jung was actually quite into astrology (The author or Richard Tarnes told me) and always did his client’s charts. There’s a book out there about it – probably more than one.

Sloan Bashinsky In the Gospels, Jesus said it was said an eye for and eye and a tooth for a tooth, but I say to (something like) resist not one who does evil, love, do good to and pray for your enemies, if a man strikes you on the cheek turn your other cheek to him, if a man takes your goods ask not for them back, if a man takes you to court settle with him along the way lest the judge through you in jail, if a man asks for your shirt offer him also your coat, if a man asks you to walk a mile with him, walk three miles with him, first take the beam out of your own eye and then you will see clearly enough to be able to help your brother remove the mote from his eye, let the one who has not sinned cast the first stone, judge not and you will not be judged in kind, you cannot worship God and mammon, take no thought for tomorrow because each day has enough trouble of its own, take no thought for your own life or for what you will eat or drink, or wear, or where you shall live, consider the birds of the air and the lilies of the field, they toil not and God takes care of them, trust in God and you will be provided what you need – the New Testament kinda as I would sum it up – that, and to the extent someone lives as Jesus lived and taught, to that extent they are saved by him …

Sloan Bashinsky When I was in Zollikon, near Zurich, in 1988, I tried to read a book Jung had written, in part of which he addressed the ET question. He said nobody was going to like what he was about to say. Basically, he said it was archetypal, there were no ETs. It was something conjuring out of the collective unconscious. I never heard he was into astrology, I can imagine though that he did delve there. I had a dear friend in California, buried in the New Age, Taoism, raw foods, wheatgrass juice, yoga, meditation, Tai Chi – which is what first attracted me to him, but I was blown through that in the American version of it. He was captured by the same angels who had me, and they put him through living hell, like they were doing me. He actually volunteered, but the angels are tricky, they tell you enough to think maybe you should go along with it, otherwise it might be a big loss for you. Anyway, my friend also was buried in astrology, and even though he was by then almost a perfect audible psychic, hearing from the angels when they wanted him to hear from them, he kept relying on astrology and using it on people the angels and I sent to him, instead of using the angels and helping those people open to the angels and be rid of him and of astrology and of lots of what was clinging onto them. I kept telling him God was a heap bigger than astrology and was not bound by it in any way. Maybe there is new astrology coming in. Don’t know. The angels tend to work with me more daily grind stuff. Oddly, the angels use the daily horrorscope (misspelling intentional) in my local daily newspaper to set the tone for my days (usually). They can use anything to speak to me, if I’m listening.

Well, I’ve heard tell that a certain group of 3 wise men was guided by a star. ?

I suppose that, like dreams, there are levels and layers to the possibilities of the patterns in the heavens . . . and earth. As Blake captured it, “To see a world in a grain of sand and heaven in a wild flower, hold Infinity in the palm of your hand, and eternity in an hour . . .

Sloan Bashinsky the Tibetan Buddhists have their own strain of astrology, one of their astrologers used it to locate near where the Dalai Lama would reincarnate in this lifetime, and they sent a couple of there lamas there carrying some things he had owned, and when they showed one to the child he said, “That’s mine!”, and they captured him again and took him about to Lasha. He said he isn’t going to let that happen again, if he comes back. ?

Sloan Bashinsky I think they lured him with presents, the family was poor and very devoted Tibetan Buddhists, they would not resist, they viewed it as a high honor, through their enormous grief and loss. I doubt they knew what tends to happen in lamasteries to young boys. We had a Rinpoche in Boulder, when I lived there. His mother and he both were raped by monks in the lamastery where he was. He got to watch them rape his mother. He was very advanced in the esoteric sense, and he was having sex right and left with any of his male or female students who would go along with it, and many were going along with it. He died of liver failure, secondary to drunkenness. His hand-picked American student successor carried forward the drinking and sex with all comers policy, and he contracted AIDS and didn’t bother to tell any of them until a bunch of them were infected, and even then the Tibetan leaders were reluctant to intervene. Finally, after it hit several well-read spiritual journals and the mainstream newspapers, including the Boulder and Denver papers, the Tibetan leadership removed him from Colorado and sent in a young lama, who was Tibetan, to take over, and he seemed a lot better in that moment for the task. The local Tibetan community split badly over it, one part said it was all karma, a spiritual process, the public never should have heard about it. The other part of the community were outraged. I think the unhappy ones all moved to eastern Canada and started over. The Rinpoche’s name was Chogyam Trungpa. Not just Catholic celibate (so-called) orders, so-called celibate yogis, etc., which have serious sexual and chemical dysfunction.

Sloan Bashinsky it’s been my view quite a while that celibacy to be righteous runs against the natural order of things, against DNA, against everything, and while sometimes it is appropriate for a pilgrim, the vow of celibacy, generally, it is denial, avoidance, running away, etc., and for sure there is no way to run away from yourself, and what is denied has its say anyway, in some way, and I suppose all of that can be lumped into what is called the shadow, even though it might be in plain view nobody wants to discuss

Post-script:

Rick BoettgerRick Boettger, of Key West, replied to Alice and Rasputin’s perceptions of Dora Kalff, Carl Jung, Sandplay Therapists of America, and the New Age post (tome) at goodmorningkeywest.com:

Thank you for sharing your remarkable dialogue with Y. Took me a few days to read it. She’s a fine writer, given her PhD work–though I have to admit it gives me a frisson of something to read “hermeneutic phenomenological approach,” the meaning of which I dimly remember from my English grad student days.

Nice to see you with an equal. (Not equivalent, of course–you are much more unique than most.)

Rick

I replied:

Hi, Rick –

Am impressed you read it all.

Y is multi-dimensional, born with it, based on what she described to me, but she is still “feral” in the not-disciplined sense, and I wonder how she would respond to, or feel about, being harnessed by the angels she says have been with her since she was a child? I encountered many people in Santa Fe, Boulder, southern California and elsewhere, who were multi-dimensional, many of whom Y kinda reminded me, others were more somber, sober, about what they had gotten themselves in, or were gotten into. There is great danger lurking in the other dimensions, and great beauty and potential also. I tried to steer Y into being harnessed, but she does not seem interested in that; can’t say I blame her, because it’s not nearly as much fun, or thrilling, as not being harnessed. Being harnessed is not really comprehensible until it is experienced. As I read Jesus in the Gospels, he was harnessed. Peter, too. In Acts and in his letters. Paul, as well, but he seemed to go off on his own personal tangents in some parts of his epistles. James seemed harnessed in his letters. John seemed harnessed in his letters. Daniel seemed harnessed in the Old Testament book bearing his named. As did a smallish number of other people in the old Testament.

Where’s that cheerful pack donkey pic when I need it? Went bye bye in this laptop, when I lost the old operating system. It’s still in the website’s photo gallery though. Let me go fetch his happy face.
